Last week, we participated in the GBV inaugural meeting held at the County Commissioner’s Boardroom in Kericho County, as part of the implementation of the Presidential Directive on Gender-Based Violence.
The meeting, convened by the County Commissioner, brought together different stakeholders and led to the constitution of the County GBV Committee.
The meeting focused on bringing stakeholders together, understanding the role each one plays, and laying the foundation for coordination moving forward.
As we move forward, key areas of focus will include:
Strengthening prompt reporting and investigation of GBV cases
Coordinating survivor support services
Submitting monthly reports to the State Department
Sparkle Again Foundation is proud to be part of this process. We are preparing to implement a community project on sexual and gender-based violence targeting minors, and we look forward to contributing meaningfully to these efforts at the community level.
We remain committed to strengthening prevention and response to GBV, which continues to be a serious and urgent issue in our communities.
