TCN Back to Eden Initiative Launch – A Successful Day of Learning & Transformation 🌱
Yesterday marked a remarkable milestone as we successfully launched the TCN Back to Eden Initiative. The event brought together the Area MCA, the Chief, village leaders, TCN staff, and Kingdom Business learners, alongside enthusiastic community members who turned up in great numbers.
The initiative focused on promoting organic farming practices inspired by the biblical Garden of Eden, encouraging communities to return to sustainable and natural food production. Participants were trained on various farm requirements necessary for transitioning to organic farming.
During the training sessions, mothers and community members learned practical skills including vertical gardening, bee keeping, and organic farming techniques. One of the highlights of the day was the establishment of a seedbed nursery for indigenous vegetables, which will later be transplanted to farms to boost organic food production.
The team also visited two farms in Sumeiyon Ward — Sirindo Village and Kaparuso Village, where women and villagers were educated on the benefits of organic farming. The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing great interest and excitement in adopting organic farming practices.
The day was filled with learning, engagement, and inspiration. The enthusiasm from the community showed that the Back to Eden Initiative is not only timely but also a step toward sustainable livelihoods and healthier communities.
Indeed, it was a successful launch, and we look forward to continued impact as we empower more communities to embrace organic farming — just as it was in the Garden of Eden. 🌿
