Farm Forestry Smallholder Producers Association of Kenya Farm Forestry Smallholder Producers Association of Kenya (FFSPAK), is an umbrella organization supporting farmer groups across Kenya.

We promote commercialization of farm forestry for income diversification and improved rural livelihoods FF-SPAK is an umbrella organization started in 2013 and working with grassroots farm and forest organizations in Kenya to promote and champion the interests of farm forestry smallholders


Activities
• Capacity building of affiliate association and other producer groups on issues around farm fo

restry
• Supporting community level tree nursery establishment initiatives and training on tree growing management and value addition
• Supporting Producer organizations and communities start and successfully run sustainable forest/farm based enterprises
• Organizing stakeholder forums to discuss farm forestry (Dialogue forums)

3. Meru Farm Forestry Association representing upper eastern
4. Southern Aberdare Conservation Network (SACN) representing central Kenya
5. Community Food and Environment Group (COFEG) representing Central Rift
6. South Coast Forest Owners Association representing Coast
7. Small holder tree farming integrated group

FFSPAK's Board of Management and Secretariat with support from FAO Kenya /Forest and Farm Facility this week underwent an intensive yet exciting training Workshop on Leadership and Governance. The 2 Facilitators who between them have over 55 years of experience working with Farmer Organizations (Cooperatives and Associations) in Kenya and the region;

1. Equipped the different Governance bodies of FFSPAK with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage Farmer organizations.

Equipping tree farmers with the right knowledge and skills to run sustainable and profitable forest enterprises while addressing climate issues is critical. With representatives from International Family Forestry Alliance-IFFA, Bavarian Forest Landowners Academy, Kenya Forestry Research Institute, the Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Forestry we deliberated on how the concept of a Farm Forestry Training Center can help farmers achieve this.
