Based in the Kenya, MANDO works to improve the lives of the marginalized residents of southern Rift Valley Kenya through economic empowerment education, water and sanitation, advocacy and the training of a new generation of entrepreneurial, ethical leaders. We do this by implementing innovative educational projects, water harvesting initiatives and skills-training programs in order to establish en

during change in the lives of pastoralist communities; by providing a need and merit-based sponsorship to the ambitious girls willing to give back to their communities; by creating awareness of the plight of pastoral nomadic communities; and by mobilizing human, financial and technical resources so that residents may lead healthy, productive lives.

💧 New Water Tank Project for Nkuyan Village
We are excited to announce a new community water project in Nkuyan that will greatly improve access to clean and reliable water for local families.
This important initiative is made possible thanks to the generous support of Salisbury Catholic Outreach (UK), whose partnership continues to bring meaningful change to rural communities

Over the past weekend, our team visited Nkuyan to identify the exact site where the new water tank will be constructed. We also held discussions with community members and local leaders about the upcoming project and the positive impact it will have for households, schools, and livestock in the area.

Access to safe water remains a critical need in many rural areas, and this project represents another step toward strengthening community resilience and wellbeing.

We look forward to beginning construction soon and will continue to share updates as the project progresses.

Great news from Enkoireroi School!

We’re happy to share that first-term funds for the school lunch program have arrived, and today we successfully procured and delivered the first month’s food supplies right on time. 🙌

A huge thank you to Dave and our amazing friends in Portland for your generosity and continued support. Because of you, we now have enough supplies to keep the program running through toward the end of February, ensuring learners have consistent meals as they focus on school.

We’ve shared photos from today’s prompt delivery to show the impact your support is already making on the ground. This wouldn’t be possible without you.

Asanteni sana for standing with Enkoireroi School and investing in our children’s wellbeing and future 💙

🌞 Day 1 Distribution Update – Lighting Up Young Futures! 🔦

We are pleased to report that Day 1 of our solar light distribution went very well! All schools—except Eroret, which we will visit tomorrow—were in session and successfully received their lights.

A big thank you to the teachers and school teams whose support and coordination made the distribution smooth and impactful. 🙌

After spending a long time in the customs warehouse, the solar lights finally got some much-needed sunlight—charging up and ready to serve the learners who need them most. ☀️

We remain truly grateful to our partners, especially Solar Buddy, and all supporters who have made this project possible. A full progress report will be shared with the team soon, and we are committed to ensuring that every child receives their light.

📸 Photos below from today’s activity
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue the distribution!

Friends,

We're pleased to share that the solar lights have now safely arrived in Nairobi from Mombasa, following successful clearance at customs. The next step is transporting them to the schools in Kajiado in the coming days.

This marks a major milestone in our efforts, and we remain deeply grateful for your generous support in making this possible. These solar lights will soon be in the hands of the 1,000 school children who need them most.

We will continue to document the journey and share updates, including photos of the distribution and use in the schools.

Thank you once again for standing with us.

Warm regards,

MANDO Projects

We are deeply grateful to @⁨Vant Hof⁩ and @⁨Alekhya USA⁩ for their incredible support in helping us secure the release of the solar lights from the Port of Mombasa. Their generosity — both in time and financial support — made this crucial step possible. Because of their dedication, over 1,000 school children will soon benefit from clean, reliable solar lighting.

Thank you, @⁨Vant Hof⁩ and @⁨Alekhya USA⁩ , for lighting the way — quite literally! 🌞💡🙏
