We highly condemn the reckless threats allegedly made by MP Eric Wamumbi against an MCA aspirant Lawrence Gachuru for the simple act of wearing a cap and hoodie branded Wantam. Such intimidation is cowardly, undemocratic, and a direct assault on the freedoms our Constitution guarantees.

Kenya’s democracy cannot be reduced to fear and threats. Leadership must be about ideas, not intimidation. We call upon all leaders to rise above petty politics and respect the right of every Kenyan to associate and express themselves without harassment.

Enough is enough. The era of threats is over.
