🌟 Empowering Innovation at Kibabii University! 🌍

Kibabii University KUGLI students are hard at work developing groundbreaking ideas to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. As they gear up for the Hult Prize Local Competitions 2025, they’re turning their passion into innovative solutions that could transform lives. This is more than just a competition; it’s a movement to inspire change and build a better future for all.

Under the dynamic leadership of Gideon Yeri, Hult Prize Campus Director, Kibabii University is taking bold steps toward global impact. With guidance and teamwork, these students are not only dreaming big but also daring to solve real-world problems.

Dr. Owino Oloo, has also challenged students from various areas of study to join the initiative and make a global impact. 'Join us in celebrating their journey and wishing them success in this exciting competition,' he added.

KUGLi Students Shine at Youth Empowerment Expo in Kakamega
September 19th to 20th, 2024

On 19th and 20th September 2024, Kibabii University’s Kenya-USA Global Launchpad Initiative (KUGLi) team participated in the Youth Career and Economic Empowerment Summit at Shamberere National Polytechnic, Kakamega County. The event, themed “Eradicating Teenage Pregnancies, HIV/AIDS Infections, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Among Youth,” attracted universities, banks, schools, and other stakeholders.

KUGLi, alongside the Corporate Communications and Marketing Office, showcased Kibabii University’s programs and services. The team engaged over 1000 students from various schools in Kakamega County, sharing insights on career development and the University’s role in fostering education, technology, and innovation.

Through various arts and performances, KIBU students emphasized the need to tackle teenage pregnancies and GBV. The KUGLi team highlighted the global concerns on teenage pregnancy rates, and discussed strategies for prevention.

On the second day, the team paid a courtesy call to Prof. Solomon Shibairo, Vice-Chancellor of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), to explore partnerships and expand the KUGLi network.

According to the KUGLi Chairman Mr. Gideon Yeri, KIBU students made a lasting impression on the young participants through active participation and engagement, further enhancing its visibility and reputation among prospective students and stakeholders.

KUGLi project is a collaboration between Kenyan universities and Syracuse University in New York, facilitated by the US Embassy in Nairobi. The initiative aims to design and implement an intensive training program for US and Kenyan university students, focusing on micro-multinational ventures to address global issues.
