nt women, prevention and treatment of severe/acute malnutrition. Child Opportunity Trust (COT) is a Local Non-Governmental Organization operating in the western region of Kenya. Its overall aim is to protect and promote the rights of women and children in a society where these rights are respected and they have opportunities to advance their livelihoods of children under five years (U5) ( improve feeding practices and integrated gardens to improve nutrition diversity), and joint outreach services with Ministry of Health in growth monitoring, village malaria campaigns and radio messaging reaching over 132,300 poor women and U5 children across the sub-county and increasing the number of women delivering with the help of a skilled attendant. Community Health and Empowerment forums (circles) have been conducted with the help of 100 community resource volunteers leading weekly empowerment and health meetings at village level and home visits in 100 villages. More than 50 Care Groups are providing healthcare, community health insurance and education to 2,311 disadvantaged children and their carers. ITNs distributed to 1,590 U5s and more than 1,117 malaria cases referred. Under Gender based violence, COT has rescued over 568 abused women/adolescence girls and provided legal services to 1,732 women. Over 450 teenage mothers have received training in protection, child health, reproductive health and vocational trainining.
