Laws passed by county governments are as important as those passed by MPs and senators in parliament.

In realization of this, today we signed an MoU with Chief Justice Martha Koome, who is also chairperson of the National Council for Law Reporting, to document and publish legislations passed in Nyamira County.

Under the MoU, Kenya Law will publish the laws online as well as train librarians and set up a legal resource centre. This will enable Nyamira residents to access laws online.

The Chief Justice congratulated Nyamira for being among 6 counties that will benefit from Kenya Law services.

Traders in Nyaronde, Nyansiongo Ward will now operate in a conducive environment following the opening of a new market.

Traders initially operated by the roadside and were exposed to harsh weather conditions. The new market has a shed, toilet and water tank.

Trade CECM Bernard Maina encouraged the traders to fully utilize the market and also pay taxes for the county to continue improving it.

Also present were CECMs Steven Oboso (Lands) and Morara Nyakoe (Finance) and other county staff.

The county of endless potential is determined to protect all the water catchment areas in combating the ravaging impacts of climate change, maintaining ecological equilibrium, and promoting environmental resilience.
