To the Young Mothers — You Are Not Alone

This Mother’s Day, we honor the teenage mothers — the brave girls who stepped into womanhood too soon, not by choice but by circumstances.

Motherhood at a young age can feel like the end of a dream.
But sometimes, it’s the beginning of a deeper purpose.

To every teenage mother — you are worthy, you are capable, and you are never alone.
We believe in your future, and we are here to walk it with you.

Happy Mother’s Day!

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, Sisari Women Initiative Group (SWIG) calls for urgent action to address the persistent challenges that hinder gender equality and women’s empowerment.

🔹 Gender-Based Violence (GBV) – Women and girls continue to face high levels of violence, including domestic abuse, sexual harassment, and femicide. We need stronger policies, better enforcement, and survivor-centered support systems.

🔹 Reproductive Health and Rights – Access to sexual and reproductive health services remains limited for many women. It’s time to prioritize comprehensive healthcare, including access to contraception, safe maternal care, and safe abortion services.

🔹 Economic Empowerment – Women still face pay gaps, limited job opportunities, and barriers to financial independence. We must invest in women’s entrepreneurship, equal pay, and policies that support working mothers.

🔹 Leadership and Representation – Women are underrepresented in decision-making spaces. We need more women in leadership at all levels—political, corporate, and community-based—to shape policies that uplift us all.

🔹 Mental Health and Well-being – Mental health remains a neglected issue, especially for women facing trauma, discrimination, and economic struggles. We must advocate for accessible mental health services and safe spaces for women.

This International Women’s Day, we don’t just celebrate—we demand change! Join us in pushing for policies and actions that truly empower women and ensure equality for all.
