Earlier today, our team at Sikhona Rescue Centre joined a Google Meet session with the team in preparation for the Samburu charity drive.

We covered everything needed for menstrual health education. From period hygiene, pain management and nutrition, to introducing menstrual products and creating safe spaces for discussion.

By building our team’s capacity in menstrual health, we ensure every session we run is impactful, inclusive, and empowering for the communities we serve.

Together, we’re making menstrual health education accessible, breaking taboos, and supporting girls, boys, and young adults in understanding their bodies 🧡

You are not what happened to you. You are what you choose to become.

Healing is not easy, but it’s possible. Every survivor deserves a safe space to rebuild, rediscover, and rise again stronger, softer and still standing 🧡

At Sikhona Rescue Centre, we believe in second chances, community healing, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again.

At Sikhona Rescue Centre, every meal is more than food. It’s connection, comfort, and community 🧡

Around this table, stories are shared, laughter flows, and healing begins. Because sometimes, safety looks like a warm cup of tea and a seat where you’re seen and heard.

A look back at one of our most beautiful moments. When one of the young women we support graduated from the rescue centre and stepped into her new beginning 🧡

Every transition is a reminder that healing is possible, independence is powerful, and hope always finds a way.

We’re proud to witness resilience turn into restoration 🧡

Survivors already carry unimaginable pain. What makes the journey even heavier is when their truth is questioned, silenced, or dismissed 💔

At we believe survivors. We know that healing starts with being heard, supported, and believed 🧡

To every survivor: your story matters, your voice matters, YOU matter.

Let’s create a world where survivors don’t have to fight twice. First to survive, and then to be believed.

What does believing survivors mean to you?

It’s okay to feel everything. Healing isn’t about pushing your pain aside. It’s about facing it, understanding it, and growing stronger through it 🧡🧡

At Sikhona Rescue Centre, we believe every survivor deserves support, care, and a safe space to heal at their own pace 🌸

✨ Remember: Your feelings are valid. Your healing journey is unique. You are not alone.

Did you know? Most survivors of Gender-Based Violence know their abuser personally. A friend, family member, colleague, or partner.

This reality challenges the myth that violence mostly comes from strangers and it’s why we must speak up, believe survivors, and create safer spaces in our homes, schools, workplaces and communities 🧡

GBV is never the survivor’s fault. The responsibility always lies with the abuser.

📢 Let’s break the silence. Share this to spread awareness and stand with survivors.
