Today , we had the opportunity to meet with Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA-Kenya) to explore possibilities for partnership and collaboration.
During the meeting, the FIDA-Kenya team shared more about the areas they work in and how their efforts support women, girls, and survivors. We also discussed how we can work together to strengthen survivor-centred approaches and respond to some of the challenges affecting communities in Kajiado County, including teenage pregnancy, Female Ge***al Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), and HIV/AIDS.
Our conversation also touched on Mental health, promoting good governance and strengthening women's participation and leadership as Kenya moves towards the 2027 General Elections.
For us, this means capacity building, and intentional advocacy that will create a lasting impact on the communities we serve. We believe meaningful change happens when organizations come together, share experiences, and combine their strengths. We look forward to building partnerships that create safer communities, empower survivors, and ensure that women and girls are heard, protected, and supported.

Strengthening Partnership with HESED Africa

We held a productive virtual meeting with HESED Kenya aimed at strengthening collaboration in advancing gender equality and promoting the rights and well-being of women and girls both refugees and host community. The engagement focused on exploring areas of mutual interest and establishing a long-term partnership that will support sustainable initiatives for the prevention of and response to gender-based violence (GBV).

The discussions also explored opportunities to collaborate on survivor-centered support, community awareness and sensitization, capacity strengthening, advocacy for policy and systems change, and referral pathways for survivors. In addition, we discussed joint efforts to promote safeguarding, child protection, economic empowerment, and community resilience.

HESED-Africa Kenya works to empower vulnerable communities through gender equality programming, prevention and response to gender-based violence, child protection, safeguarding, mental health and psychosocial support, economic empowerment, and strengthening community systems through partnerships and capacity building.

We look forward to building a meaningful and impactful partnership that will contribute to safer, more inclusive, and resilient communities.

Today's partnership meeting with FIDA Kenya reminded us that meaningful change is achieved through collaboration. As the African proverb says, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
At Survivors Mentors Organisation, we recognize that we do not have all the answers. By partnering with organizations like FIDA Kenya, we learn from each other's experiences, strengthen our approaches, and build on solutions that have already been tested.
Today's discussions reinforced the importance of sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and working together to promote justice, protect survivors of gender-based violence and modern slavery, and empower vulnerable communities. We believe that every partnership leaves us wiser and better equipped to create lasting impact.
We appreciate FIDA Kenya for their openness to collaborate and look forward to building a strong partnership that advances access to justice, legal empowerment, and community resilience. Together, we can go farther and create sustainable change.

Our healing journey is inspired by togetherness.

As Survivors' Mentors' , we intentionally create safe spaces where we come together as survivors to check in with one another, encourage each other, and remind ourselves that no one( has to carry their story alone. We believe that before we can effectively mentor and support fellow survivors, we must first make sure that we are healing, growing, and doing well ourselves.

These forums have become more than meetings—they are a culture of hope, strength, and shared healing. We are deeply grateful to the entire Survivor's Mentors' crew for embracing this as a culture.We appreciate the presence, openness, and commitment to walking this journey together.

Together, we heal. Together, we rise. Together, we remind each other that we are never alone.

To end Modern Day Slavery, information is power and every conversation brings us one step closer to Safer workplaces.

Today, we had a transformative engagement with the team at Mass Intimates Company in an insightful session on forms of abuse and how to identify, report, and prevent exploitation .The session was all balanced; we did not just enlighten them but hot to listen , get insights a updates on the common forms of exploitation experienced at workplaces and possible ways this can be solved.
Every woman deserves to work in an environment that is safe, respectful, and free from abuse and exploitation.

We were especially encouraged to learn that women make up 50% of the company's leadership—a strong reminder that inclusive leadership can help drive positive change.

This is only the beginning, and we are committed to keeping these important conversations going as we work together to

As The Survivor Mentors Organisation, we were honoured to participate in this impactful conference held at Tangaza University under the theme "Human Trafficking in a Changing World: Interdisciplinary Pathways for Prevention, Protection, and Human Dignity."

Human rights is one of our thematic areas and we appreciate that the conference was an enriching experience filled with insightful discussions, practical strategies, engaging games, and meaningful interactions. It provided a valuable platform to learn, share experiences, and strengthen our collective commitment to preventing human trafficking, protecting survivors, and restoring human dignity.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Tangaza University , partners, speakers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Together, we continue to build stronger collaborations and create lasting solutions in the fight against human trafficking.

As for us , this serves as a blueprint to help reduce if not end this vice.

As schools close for the holiday, let's remember that learning doesn't stop in the classroom.

This is the perfect time to equip our children with life skills that will protect and empower them.As Survivors' Mentor's Organization , we had the honor to engage girls at Utumishi Primary, Kitengela in a number of topics;

🧼 Personal hygiene and healthy habits.
❤️ Age-appropriate Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)
🛡️ Recognizing and reporting abuse.
🤝 Peaceful ways to handle conflict in the family.
📚 Maintaining good academic habits through reading and revision.

A safe, informed, and confident child is better prepared for the future. Let's make this an all round responsibility,we can do it!
We encourage all to extend respect , ensure safety of our children , build character, resilience, and confidence for the better of our communities.

Tangaza University, in partnership with Frolics of Hope Africa, HAART Kenya, Talitha K*m Kenya, and The Survivors' Mentors' Organization (SMO), is hosting the 4th International Conference on Human Trafficking. The conference is bringing together key voices from across academia, government, civil society and survivor-led initiatives to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and explore practical solutions for preventing human trafficking, protecting survivors, and upholding human dignity

We look forward to two days of honest conversations, collaboration, and practical solutions that will help shape a future free from human trafficking.
