Today, our Waste for Education Project participated in a cleanup exercise organized by the Nairobi City County Environmental Department. Following the cleanup, we planted trees as part of our commitment to environmental conservation. We also had an opportunity to present our Waste for Education Project to the Nairobi county environment deputy director Mr. Ole Tiptip and the entire fraternity, highlighting the color-coded waste bins that have been installed at Ndururuno Primary School.
It was a meaningful day of promoting cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and education within the community.

Today, we successfully delivered and installed coded waste bins at Huruma Primary School under the Waste for Education Program, a joint initiative by Huruma Waste and KYAK.
This marks a significant milestone as we work toward our goal of reaching 5,000 learners across two schools by the end of 2026. The activity was graced by program officers from SDI-Kenya, who are valued partner in the implementation of this project.

We are pleased to share that 13 needy children from our community library, who are also members of the Taka for Education program, have received bursaries from the office of the MCA. This support followed our request to assist vulnerable families in applying for the bursary. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the MCA Ndungu Joseph Karanja Ndoch and the bursary committee for honoring our request.
As a group, we remain committed to promoting climate change awareness through various educational activities, which we believe are crucial for building a sustainable future.

Mashujaa Day Celebrated in Style! 🇰🇪
Today, we marked Mashujaa Day in a special way by celebrating our young heroes. We presented success cards to 21 pupils and students who will be sitting for their KPSEA, KJCEA, and KCSE national examinations.

The day was filled with joy, dancing, and delicious refreshments as we came together to encourage and support our candidates.

We wish all our students the very best in their upcoming exams – you are our future heroes! 🌟📚🎉.

Today, we held a collaboration meeting with the Mwamko Foundation in Kahawa soweto as part of our plans to extend the Taka for Education program. The bilateral discussions were productive and encouraging, setting the stage for a promising partnership. 🌿 Mazingira Day Success! 🌿

Kambimoto Youth and Kids (KYAK), Huruma Waste Pickers, Kiamaiko Environment Management Team, Mathare Community Centre Library,Kiamaiko community,The Local administration, KEPRO, and Muungano wa Wanavijiji-SDI Kenya, ChallengeAid Africa we marked a successful Mazingira Day at Valley Bridge Primary School! 💚

We planted 250 fruit trees along the school’s perimeter wall and held a powerful sensitization session with the Climate Workx team on the importance of trees and responsible waste management. 🌳♻️

Let’s remember — our environment is our responsibility. Let’s continue to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle for a greener tomorrow! 🌍💪
