We carried out a drainage system clean-up to help keep Mombasa clean and reduce the impact of climate change. Clean drainage systems help prevent flooding, protect our environment, and create healthier communities.

This activity is a clear reminder that climate action starts with all of us. Together, we can build a cleaner, greener, and more resilient Mombasa.

As always, today Junda Kasarani Reform CBO successfully carried out a dumpsite clean-up exercise at Shofco Makumba. Together, we continue to promote a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for our community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Mombasa County Department of environment, Solid Waste Management and Energy for their continued support and partnership in making these initiatives possible.

Today, Junda Kasarani Reform CBO successfully hosted a capacity-building training that brought together several community groups, including Mamboleo Waste, Morgana Garbage Collectors, Kidagaya Waste, Trash to Treasure, Mashangazi Women Group, and Wangwani Mosque Women Group.
The training was facilitated by Hand in Hand, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and practical skills to strengthen community development, waste management, and sustainable livelihoods.
We sincerely thank Hand in Hand for their support and all the participating groups for their active engagement. Together, we continue building a cleaner, stronger, and more empowered community.

For communities living along our shorelines, protecting our mangroves from garbage and illegal dumping is a shared responsibility. Much of this waste is washed into the ocean, where it pollutes the environment and poisons our mangrove ecosystems, leading to their gradual destruction.
