The Naapu Indigenous Women-Led Fund was successfully launched yesterday at the Nasaruni Indigenous Women Hub, SWT Main Office in Nturukuma Center. It was a significant and inspiring moment that highlighted the strength, leadership, and vision of Indigenous women working to transform their communities.
As a girls-led organization, we are very happy and proud to have been part of this important launch. It was encouraging to witness such a powerful initiative that is dedicated to uplifting and supporting Indigenous women and girls.
We especially appreciate Jane Meriwas Hsc for the recognition given to Indigenous adolescent girls. Being acknowledged and included in such spaces reminds us that our voices matter and that we are part of shaping a better and more equitable future for our communities. As Indigenous adolescent girls, we feel deeply happy and proud to be part of this powerful moment. Being recognized, seen, and included in this journey means so much to us. It reminds us that our voices matter, our dreams are valid, and our leadership is valued.

This is not just history being made it is hope being planted in our hearts. Thank you Jane Meriwas Hsc for creating space where Indigenous girls and women are not only included, but leading and transforming our own futures. Together, we rise.

Samburu Women Trust is excited to welcome 150 Indigenous Girls to this yearโ€™s powerful mentorship forum in Naramat Indigenous Women Arboretum in Kipsing โ€” a safe space where girls learn, lead, and rise with confidence.

This school holiday, weโ€™re creating a circle of knowledge, dignity, and protection for girls who often face early marriage, FGM, and barriers to education. Here, they will gain life skills, meet inspiring mentors, and discover the strength of their own voices.

๐Ÿ“ All girls around the venue and nearby communities are warmly invited!

Because when a girl is empowered, a community is transformed. ๐Ÿ’›

Samburu Women Trust(SWT), in collaboration with Kipsing community , is pleased to announce the Annual Girlsโ€™ Mentorship Program to be held at the Naramat Indigenous Women Arboretum, Kipsing. This transformative initiative brings together young girls aged 12 years and above, creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering space for learning, growth, and self-discovery.

The mentorship program is designed to equip girls with essential knowledge and life-skills that strengthen their confidence, amplify their voices, and support their overall well-being. Through structured sessions and interactive engagements, the girls will benefit from:

๐ŸŒธ Advocacy Training
Building the capacity of girls to understand their rights, speak up on issues affecting them, and become active champions of positive change within their communities.

๐ŸŒธ Self-Awareness & Positive Self-Esteem
Empowering girls to understand their identity, strengths, values, and aspirations while nurturing confidence and resilience during adolescence.

๐ŸŒธ Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR)
Providing accurate, age-appropriate information on SRHR to enable informed decision-making, prevent vulnerabilities, and promote healthy transitions into adulthood.

๐ŸŒธ Effective Communication Skills
Enhancing interpersonal communication, public speaking, and respectful expressionโ€”skills that build leadership, improve relationships, and open opportunities.

๐ŸŒธ Mentorโ€“Mentee Engagement
Creating meaningful interactions with experienced women mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and real-life insights that inspire personal growth and ambition.

๐ŸŒธ Talent Development & Career Guidance
Identifying and nurturing individual talents while offering career exposure and pathways that help girls envision their future and pursue long-term goals.

Held within the culturally rich and environmentally significant Naramat Indigenous Women Arboretum, this annual program not only supports girlsโ€™ empowerment but also connects them to their heritage, nature, and community values.

The Annual Girlsโ€™ Mentorship Program is more than an event โ€” it is an investment in the next generation of confident, educated, and empowered young women who will shape the future of Kipsing and beyond.
