Regional Pastoralists Peace Link -RPPL

This is the official Isiolo Peace Link page. Since 2016 Isiolo Peace Link is in a fruitful partnership with the German NGO Weltfriedensdienst.

RPPL formerly Isiolo Peace Link (IPL) is a Non-profit Organization founded in 2006 to promote Peace & Security, Good Governance and Human Rights and Community Based Natural Resource Management. Isiolo Peace Link (IPL) was formed as a registered community based organisation in 2006 and has been instrumental in articulating Peace and Reconciliations issues in Isiolo County and beyond. It has resolve

d various pastoral and urban conflicts as well as offered auxiliary services in giving alerts to various actors in peace-building and conflict prevention, government law enforcement agencies in and outside the County. The organization uses traditional conflict resolutions mechanism as well as other conventional structures in arbitrating, and negotiations to stop conflicts. Within this partnership the main areas of intervention are local governance, countering violent extremism and preventing resource based conflicts.

This year, RPPL, under the Usalama na Haki (II) project, in partnership with the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC) through the RANGE Programme, proudly marked the 5th Edition of the Peace Ultra Marathon Initiative (PUMI) 2026 in Kipsing, Oldonyiro Ward, Isiolo County.
The three-day programme officially commenced with community peace dialogues bringing together communities that have historically experienced conflict and resource-based tensions. These conversations provided a safe space to rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, promote reconciliation, and collectively chart pathways towards sustainable peace.
The programme will culminate in the iconic Peace Ultra Marathon, complemented by cultural performances, youth engagement activities, and powerful peace messaging demonstrating that sport can transcend boundaries, unite diverse communities, and inspire a shared commitment to peace, resilience, and sustainable development.
