As we closed the week, we were glad to have joined partners from Kenya and Uganda in a week-long capacity-building training focused on strengthening resource mobilization and financial management, supported and facilitated by
Ipas Africa Alliance.
We were proud to be part of a collaborative space that went beyond convening, one that actively invested in building resilient, sustainable community organizations. Through shared learning, practical tools, and aligned strategies, this engagement equipped us to enhance long-term impact within our communities.
At CYAN Kenya, we recognize that sustainable change is driven by strong systems, skilled teams, and meaningful partnerships. This training reinforced our commitment to deepening our impact and supporting community-led solutions.

Tradition meets modern healthcare!
On 15th December 2025, CYAN Kenya was proud to participate in the validation of the Homa Bay County Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA) Engagement Strategic Plan (2025–2030) under the theme “Bridging traditions and modern healthcare.”
This meaningful forum brought together the County Health Management Team (CHMT), Sub-County Health Management Teams (SCHMT), Religious leaders, CUCs, Youth Representative, NGAO, Lwala Community Alliance and other key partners. The discussions created a safe and inclusive space to listen, learn and reflect on how TBAs who remain trusted voices at the community level can be better integrated into the formal health system.
At the heart of this strategy is people. It recognizes culture, respects tradition and places communities at the center of maternal and newborn health solutions. By strengthening collaboration between TBAs and health facilities, Homa Bay County is taking a bold step toward improving access to care, building trust and saving lives.
We remain committed to supporting community-led, culturally responsive approaches that ensure every mother and every newborn has a safe and healthy start to life.

Today, on International Anti-Corruption Day, we are reminded that integrity, transparency and accountability are the foundation of a just society. Corruption threatens development, undermines public trust and limits opportunities for communities especially young people.
At CYAN Kenya, our commitment to combating corruption remains unwavering. Through community empowerment, civic education and youth-led advocacy, we continue to champion transparent governance and amplify voices calling for accountability at every level.
Together, we can build a future where honesty is the loud and corruption has no place.
