The Imara Community Widows: Building a Sustainable Future
In Kenya, being a widow means facing a harsh reality. In a country where women’s empowerment is still an ongoing battle, raising a family alone is an immense challenge.

Yet, the widows of the Imara Community are a testament to strength and resilience. Driven by a shared vision, they are striving to empower themselves and uplift one another. Every Sunday, they gather to offer mutual support and share their experiences. However, love and solidarity are sometimes not enough when basic necessities like food and safe water are scarce.

A Fresh Start Through Sustainable Agriculture
Until 2019, these courageous women were able to support their families through tailoring and sewing. Devastatingly, a fire destroyed all their sewing machines, stripping them of their tools and livelihoods overnight.

Now, a new hope is taking root. We are launching a sustainable agriculture project designed to give these women the means to grow their own food, generate a steady income, and secure a dignified future for their families.

🌱‼️We Need Your Support ‼️🌱

We are launching a community farming initiative in Homa Bay County to create employment, strengthen food security, and build a sustainable source of income for local families 🤝.

Our goal is to cultivate maize, beans, vegetables, and tomatoes year-round 🌽🍅. This project is not just about farming, it is about empowerment. It creates jobs while generating income that is reinvested directly back into the community.

The rainy season is knocking at our door 🌧️, and this is our critical planting window.

We urgently need funds to purchase the necessary seeds in the coming weeks. Without immediate support, we risk missing this planting season and delaying both food production and income generation.

This is about long-term stability, not short-term aid. Every contribution is invested into systems that create continuous impact.
