Attending the Our Ocean Conference was a transformative experience. I had an opportunity to engage with fellows, conservationists, and policy experts.
It’s provided an understanding of global marine policies, conservation strategies and community approaches in the ecosystem and ocean biodiversity protection.
Truly the future of our oceans depends on collective actions.

Recently we convened a regional stakeholder meeting to address emerging challenges facing the education sector in Kenya.
School unrest is among the leading challenges, with over 200 schools being affected.
We emphasized the need for a broader approach, involving stakeholders is key.

“A Global Call for Climate Action"

Today, we joined stakeholders to commemorate This year's theme, which emphasises climate action and environmental awareness, we engaged learners at Gamba Comprehensive School in meaningful discussions on climate change, environmental conservation, and locally led solutions.
We planted 1,000 fruit-bearing and indigenous trees to support ecosystem restoration.

Menstrual dignity is not a privilege, it’s a reproductive right🩸 is shifting from pad distribution to engaging adolescents on:
menstrual disorders🤒
Pain management😫
Promoting healthcare access🏥

During this year’s World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we engaged learners at Lisa Hola School for the Deaf.
The session provided an opportunity for learners to engage and ask about reproductive health. Let’s destigmatize menstrual hygiene and promote self-care💯

Last week, our Executive Director represented the organization at the contributing to conversations on sustainable urbanization and inclusive solutions.
We wrapped up on a high note with the signing of the Nairobi Declaration—an important commitment towards achieving better housing and more resilient cities. Key priorities highlighted included:
Political goodwill and people-centered policies
Strong intergovernmental collaboration
Urban climate action and inclusive communities for better cities
As we look ahead to
an important question remains:
Are we, as a region, truly committed to building greener cities and ensuring young people are actively included in shaping this transformation 💭

Is it a disaster or a failure of design🚧

Sewage blockage, construction on riparian land and floods are becoming a trend in cities📈

Understanding the issue at the regional level is critical. Governments must commit enough resources to protect Mother Nature and strengthen systems for mitigation and adaptation🤝

Climate-vulnerable communities are not beneficiaries but architects in building green cities for all.

“Give To Gain” achieving Gender Equality is a collective responsibility💜

Marked the day alongside women from the Diocese of Garissa in a vibrant procession at Hola town symbolizing the power of unity in championing for gender equality.

Later joined key stakeholders where we witnessed the launch of the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Policy. This is a key step of ensuring safety for survivors by having policy that works for the people of Tana River County.

Real change happens when communities collaborate, let’s hold hands and walk the journey toward a safer future.

Today marked the beginning of a new cohort.
We conducted the first session on cohort two at Hola Secondary School.

The first session of the Mazingira Mentorship Project focuses on an introduction to the environment and the triple environmental crisis: Climate Change, Pollution and Biodiversity loss.

Through the discussions, learns gained insights on the project’s objectives and the importance of environmental education.
