Rhino Mercy supports the preservation of wildlife and habitat in Africa through wildlife security intiatives, academic research, youth education, and technology conversions

. Rhino Mercy, and its partners, believe an alternative is needed to traditional approaches seeking to preserve cultural and natural heritages. We believe that by 'feeding and teaching the kids' we have a unique opportunity to develop a greater sense of environmental patriotism in the next generation of natural resource stewards thereby improving the sustainability of our planets' most important traditons and resources.

Another school term in the Mara is coming to an end and these students are ready now, more than ever, to take their final exams. Please wish these Grade 6 & 8 boys and girls at Esupatai Primary School all the best. We're hoping that full tummy's from the Power Porridge Program over the school term will have in some small way contributed to their ultimate success! Regardless, everyone at the Mama Watoto Program is very proud of each one of you and we look forward to celebrating your achievements!

Excited to announce that our Mama Watoto Power Porridge Program has been expanded to the Loita community of Nkorkindiga! In cooperation with community leaders, Rhino Mercy and Kosen Safaris and Expiditions provided funding to construct a small kitchen for cooking our Power Porridge! Nkorkindiga Pre School is located in the Loita Hills of Kenya (near the border with Tanzania) and serves as a feeder school for children too small to walk to the nearsest primary school (Iltumaro Primary School). Please open the pictures and look at all the beautiful smiling faces!

So proud to announce that on June 10th our Power Porridge Program was launched at Iltumaro Primary School. Iltumaro is located in the Loita Hills, kenya on the border with Tanzania! Thank you to Big John and Anne for delivering the new cooking equipment, supplies and enough food to provide lunch to 320 students everyday they are in school for the rest of the school term. Getting this stuff to such a remote location is a logistical challenge but......they did it and they are heros!

Great report from our Headmaster at Esupetai Primary School! When we started the Power Porridge program one month ago, the student population at the school was 442.... now it's 476! Even better, before the Power Porridge program approximately 225 students would go home at lunch time to find food and simply not return to school.....now the Headmaster reports that 100% of the students stay at school all day until they are dismissed at 3:00 PM! Huge success! One of the current challenges due to higher enrollments is 'seating capacity' in the classrooms......

At this moment the children seemed bewildered but later on the joy and laughter was amazing. One member of the Board of Management told us that they had never before heard the children laughing as much as they were after the meal we served. Such a humbling experience. Let us know if you want to be a part of this life changing project! Trust me, every little bit helps.....help us make a difference!

April 25th 2022 was a wonderful day for the Mama Watoto Program and sponsors as we were greeted by the students, families, faculty, staff, and Board of Management of the Esupetai Primary School in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. Our team returned as promised for the launch of the Power Porridge Program to feed 442+ beautiful children of the Esupetai community while they are in school....everyday for the next two years. Please take the time to celebrate with us by scrolling through the photo album below, liking and commenting as you go. So proud of the success of this grand launch where Mama Watoto herself officially opened 'mom's kitchen' (and helped cook the first batch of porridge) with the help of family and friends from Kosen Safari's and Expiditions along with members of the Rotary Club of Lake Chelan.
