"Kenyan political history sometimes inspires, other times it's tormentious! Today you are a patriot, tomorrow an enemy of the people depending on which political mlengo you are.

I really sympathise With Senate Orengo! The only patriot who has remained resilient to his calling in all the government regimes!
The only one still turning rifle and firing on the tyrant. His core patriots have downed their tools and bowed to the challenge! Others have joined the bandwagon to oppress Kenyan for their stomach. Liberation in this nation will depend on those who are mentally and soulfully liberated, they cannot turn back, either by intimidation or enticement! I have witness for decades now great people bowing their heads and offering their loyalty in exchange for survival or financial rewards. Our own people we have respected and trusted over time are usually converted every day! Our own brothers and Sisters have become instruments of oppression! Are being used to insult or maim political heroes and patriots. They are shamelessly betraying Kenyans. A few remaining and emerging patriots are mysteriously dying or assassinated, being economically deprived, without even a whisper of help from those who call themselves patriots, Not even the Church! Neocolonialism is the order! In the beginning the church and the colonizers were together but in disguise Today, and because they are our own people, they are shamelessly and openly conspiring against Kenyans.

It is ethical to interrogate leaders before electing them for a political represention. This can happen by discussing with others or asking those who know the candidates or direct questioning the candidates. Unfortunately, electorates are more or less faced with evasion , act of deception where a true statement is irrelevant or leads to a false conclusion.
For instance, You ask, where the candidates comes from or what is his/her Education background, " you are told, why do you ask? Ndio udo? Wee wacha kutusumbua, .....Eventually people end up electing people they do not know, or people they cannot access easily. This is how 2027 will be if people will not change their mindset.
Recently we asked people if they new the homes of various leaders; very few new, many guessed, others who appeared like supporters were very abusive or arrogant. Signs of evasion carry the day.
"Evasion is described as a way to fulfil an obligation to tell the truth while keeping secrets from those not entitled to know the truth. Evasions are closely related to equivocations and mental reservations. It is therefore clear Without proper civic education, electorate wataanguka kwa hii mtego. Elect slay queens, typical machang'is , idiots, demagogues and people who have questionable integrity issue not in the public domain. And Kenyans shall be in it yet again. Let us be truthful to one another, let's not be guided by ignorance, selfishness, loyalty or deception. Ndiyo to change this Nation

The phrase "the government eats its own people" is a famous, prophetic statement made by James Orengo, the current Governor of Siaya County and Senior Counsel, often referencing the tendency of regimes to turn against their own supporters or allies.
The quote is often traced back to a 2017/2020 context where Orengo, then a Senator, warned Jubilee party leaders that the repressive measures they were applying to the opposition would eventually be turned against them.
It is a variation of the phrase "revolutions eat their own children" highlighting that governments often consume their own supporters.
In our case, back to Kenyan politics, this quote is frequently invoked to describe political betrayal, the fallout between leaders in power, and the punitive actions taken by the state against former allies.
In recent years, it has been used to describe the political fallout between President William Ruto and his allies (when in the opposition/early days of government) and in 2025 in reference to the "broad-based government" (the inclusion of opposition ODM members into the Kenya Kwanza government).
As of 2024/2025, Governor Orengo has criticized the "broad-based government" concept, suggesting that when the opposition and government dance to the same tune, the government becomes more corrupt and oppressive, often leading to the "eating" of those involved in such coalitions.

*WHAT IS WRONG WITH KENYA & KENYANS?*
Japan, a nation decimated by two nuclear bombs, didn't beg for sympathy or aid.
It rebuilt itself with pride and an unshakeable sense of self-respect. In the years since, it has never once stretched out a hand to America for alms.
A Kenyan man living in Japan for over a year noticed something strange. Though the people were polite and helpful, no one ever invited him into their home, not even for a cup of tea.
Perplexed and hurt, he finally asked a Japanese acquaintance why.
After a long pause, the friend replied,
"We are taught Kenyan history... not for inspiration, but as a warning."
Confused, the Kenyan man asked, "A warning?"
"Tell me," the Japanese friend continued, "how many British ruled Kenya?"
The Kenyan man thought, "Perhaps... around 2,000?" or less?
The Japanese man nodded grimly. "And how many Kenyan lived there by 1960? Over 6.8 million, right?"
"Then who oppressed your people?
Who carried out the orders to whip, torture, and shoot them?" he pressed.
"When captain general Meinhertshagen gave the command 'Fire!' at Kandara Muruka, who pulled the trigger? The soldiers weren't British; they were Black Kenyans."
"Not one turned their rifle on the tyrant. Not one," he said. "And, you want to talk about slavery?
That was and is still your real slavery. Not of the body, but of the soul."
The Kenyan man stood frozen, silent, and ashamed.
The Japanese friend went on, "How many Arabs came from Oman? A few hundred, tens maybe? And yet they ruled you for centuries. They built empires not with their numbers, but because your own people bowed their heads and offered their loyalty in exchange for survival... or silver."
"Your own people were converted. Your own brothers became instruments of their oppression. Your own men handed over your heroes. Kimathi was betrayed. Mwariama was betrayed. General Kago Mboki faced the gallows without even a whisper of help from those who called themselves patriots," he said.

We know he wasn't alone! History does not lie!
Let's honor and honor genuinely! Raila was not alone in this! He was among many more Kenyans, whom we do not know one promise they made, one pledge they gave, one word they spoke; but we do know they were summed up and perfected, by one supreme act, the highest virtues of men and citizens. For love of their country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue."We have forgotten the Seven bearded sisters _ Abuya Abuya (Kitutu East), Onyango Midika (Nyando now Muhoroni), Mashengu wa Mwachofi (Wundanyi), James Orengo (Ugenya), Lawrence Sifuna (Bumula), Chibule wa Tsuma (Kaloleni) and Koigi wa Wamwere (Nakuru North, now Subukia), (they're were not called seven bearded sisters for fun), we have forgotten proponent for the clamor for multipartism in 1990s _ Paul Muite, Kipkalya kones,(and his father Wasonga Sijeyo, a fellow detainee of Jaramogi's), Augustine Njeru Kathangu, Dr. Mukisa Kituyi, Muskari Kombo, Wanyiri Kihoro, Kabado wa Kabado,........., forgotten undisputed clergies _ Timothy Njoya, Bishop Muge, Bishop David Gitari (living and the dead), the list is endless but a few to mention. Their wives some who were maimed, tortured and terrorised for no apparent reason. Many never lived to enjoy the fruits of their struggle. Only Yes people or ignorant who would deny that those who maimed, tortured and killed them self -styled and conspired to take power and glory. Over decades we have observed selective tokenism rewarding by various regimes based on political interest. This tread need to stop! Let our NATION be guided by TRUTH and JUSTICE.
