Was born as a result of thirst to seek Peace and Reconciliation after 2007/2008 Kenya post-election violence in order to inculcate cohesion among Kenyan youth through democracy and good governance. Hence World Youth Parliament envisages to realize a World Youth Generation that is responsible, democratic, respectful and accountable. Founded in 2007, as a no
n-profit organization registered in Kenya under the Societies Act, is a specialty youth organization that focuses on youth matters. The World Youth Parliament (WYP) is a permanent forum for dialogue created in 1981 by Fernando Rielo Pardal (1923-2004), Founder of the Idente Missionaries and Idente Youth. It was born following a lecture given by him at the UN Headquarters in New York City. He dreamed that the voice of young people, free from prejudices and self interest, might be heard worldwide and produce a decisive contribution to fundamental issues of social and spiritual life. It is therefore a project of Idente Youth, as recipient of this great legacy left by the Founder, open to all young people who feel an affinity for its objectives and wish to join this initiative. The theoretical foundation of the WYP is based on the Charter drafted by Fernando Rielo in 1991 at the request of some young people who desired an explicit statement from him on this project. The following expresses the principles that govern this initiative:
"The World Youth Parliament has a presupposition: the way in which man is defined provides him with the measure of his being and of his actions. From this definition is derived the foundation of man's rights and duties, of his religious, social, and political relationships, and, ultimately, of his personal and social greatness or poverty. The specific mission of the World Youth Parliament is to increase the personal commitment of every young person, taking into account their origin and destiny, coupled with the commitment of other young people of all faiths, races and countries, to the defense of the noblest ideals: peace, life, unity, love, character, prosperity etc”. 8. Efficiency- Being efficient and effective in our approach to give best solution each time.
9. Empowerment- Empowering the members, officials and the Community to take necessary initiatives.
10. Fun- Having fun and celebrating small successes in our journey to achieve big.
11. Innovation- We come out with new creative ideas that have the potential to change the world.
12. Integrity-We act with honesty and integrity without compromising the truth.
13. Leadership- We have the courage to lead from the front and shape future.
14. Ownership- We take ownership of the World and the Organization, and the success therein.
15. Passion-We Put the heart and mind in the work and all endeavors.
16. Quality-We give right and timely outputs that are unmatched results for all round satisfaction.
17. Respect- We give due respect to self and others and maintain the environment of team-work and growth.
18. Risk Taking- We encourage ourselves and the community to take responsible risks for a bright future.
