IRISE Foundation was not born from having everything figured out.

It was born from gratitude.

Years ago, after getting an opportunity to grow professionally, our founder, Faith Muoti, made a simple decision-to go back home and celebrate with the community that raised her.

What started as giving back quickly became something deeper.

As we interacted with young people, listened to their stories, and shared moments together, one thing became clear:

There was so much potential…
but very limited access to opportunities, mentorship, and support.

That moment planted a vision.

A vision to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity.

Over the years, that vision has continued to grow:
from community outreach,
to mentorship,
to programs like My Worth,
and now into digital skills training for youth.

Because in today’s world, opportunities are shifting online and young people deserve the skills, guidance, and support needed to thrive.

And this is only the beginning.

Youth Unemployment in Kenya: Understanding the Crisis and Creating Opportunities

Youth unemployment has become one of the most pressing challenges facing Kenya today. Despite many young people completing school and gaining qualifications, finding stable employment remains difficult. Unemployment among young people continues to rise as thousands of graduates enter the job market every year with limited opportunities available.

This growing crisis affects not only individuals but also families, communities, and the overall economic development of the country. When young people cannot access meaningful work, their potential remains untapped, and society loses valuable talent and innovation.

However, solutions are emerging through youth employment service programs, skills training initiatives, and mentorship opportunities that equip young people with the tools they need to succeed. Organizations like IRISE Foundation are playing an important role in empowering youth and creating pathways toward employment and entrepreneurship.

The journey has been truly impactful — and indeed, the Lord has carried us through.

*_New Dawn for Our Young Mothers 10th May 2025*_

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for the young mothers of Mukuru Ruben Slums. With courage in their hearts and hope in their eyes, they boldly said *YES* to the implementation stage of their economic empowerment journey. This momentous decision stems from the impactful workshop we held on *26th March* , where transformation began to take root.

With the professional guidance of our financial *expert, Dr. Barasa* , the women came together to form an accountability group—a safe, encouraging space where dreams are nurtured and discipline is fostered.

Together, they crafted a savings strategy, committed to supporting each other on their path to becoming business owners and financially independent women by the end of this year.

This isn't just a program it's a movement. A movement of healing, growth, and purpose. These women, once burdened by the challenges of single motherhood and limited opportunities, are now rising one step at a time towards a brighter, self-sustained future.
To everyone who contributed to making the March workshop a success thank you. Whether you offered time, expertise, resources, prayers, or encouragement, your role has been instrumental. This victory is yours too.

We believe that this is only the beginning. As we prepare to usher in *_Cohort 2 of the IRISE Foundation,*_ we do so with renewed faith and excitement. Because when women rise, communities are transformed.
