INTERVIEW 5 Kenya Forest Service

A forest was given. A promise was kept.

There are no words adequate enough to express what it means that the Kenya Forest Service through Mr. Robert Wanderi, trusted 13-year-old girl with a section of Kinale Forest in Kiambu County.

This was not just an allocation. It was an act of faith. A government institution saying: we see you, Karen. We believe in what you are doing. And we are giving you the ground to do it.

Mr. Robert Wanderi, thank you for standing with us at Kinale. Thank you for the forest. Thank you for showing that the institutions built to protect this country's natural heritage are ready to work with the next generation to do exactly that.

Every tree Karen plants at Kinale is a covenant with the forest, with Kenya, and with the future. We will honour it.

INTERVIEW 4 Absa Bank Kenya

Thank You Absa Bank Kenya — Trees for the Future | Kinale Forest | Green Diaries.

Among the moments that defined the Kinale Forest planting day was a conversation between Karen Kimani and Rufus Mwenda, Sustainability Manager at Absa Bank Kenya.

Absa Bank Kenya's participation in this initiative represents exactly the kind of corporate sustainability leadership that the climate crisis demands.

Absa Bank Kenya brought to Kinale a deep understanding of the intersection between financial responsibility and environmental stewardship. Mr. Rufus Mwenda willingness to plant trees personally alongside Karen was a powerful symbol of Absa's commitment.

Karen Kimani had the opportunity to interact and interview the sustainability manager.
