Kenya Dairy Farmers Federation is a newly formed company whose objective is to drive, expand and organize the dairy industry in Kenya to become efficient, competitive and sustainable. It has come from a joint desire by all the stakeholders that farmers must not only control their destiny but actually improve their share of value in
the milk value chain. The Federation was formally established and registered in February 2012 and it presently govern by committee drawn from participating farmer organizations across the country. This body makes policies and ensures staff implements the policies for the support of the smallholder dairy farmers. The committee works with the senior staff in reaching out to government, processors and service providers on issues of monitoring, measurement and enforcement of contracts. KDFF recognizes the importance of forging networks, collaborations and partnerships with other stakeholders and institutions with similar or related objectives. KDFF will continue to work closely with other specialist dairy groups, Professional organizations and individuals that support its agenda. Under these arrangements, emphasis will be placed on synergies and joint efforts required to produce significant changes for the dairy producers in Kenya.
