DAY 1 | 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
Today marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism, a global call to shine light where silence has lived too long. At Reprodrive, we start these 16 days by naming the reality facing our communities:
Technology-facilitated GBV is rising.
Today we highlight the growing threat of Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) in our communities. We capture how digital spaces, phones, social media, messaging apps, and online platforms, are increasingly being used to harass, stalk, exploit, blackmail, and intimidate women and girls.
These are the hidden forms of violence that happen behind screens:
• Non-consensual sharing of intimate images
• Online harassment and cyberbullying
• Digital blackmail and extortion
• Impersonation and surveillance
• Manipulative or abusive communication
We aim to raise awareness, humanise survivors’ experiences, and spark conversations on how communities, and institutions can protect women and girls in both physical and digital spaces.
Walk with us for the next 16 days as we amplify stories, share knowledge, and mobilise action across Uasin Gishu and beyond.
