💙 EMPOWERING GIRLS. RESTORING DIGNITY. ENDING PERIOD POVERTY. 🌸

Every girl deserves to experience her period with dignity, confidence, knowledge and without fear or shame. Yet for many adolescent girls living in underserved communities, menstrual health remains a barrier to education, participation and opportunity.

On 20th August 2026, Odi Agency Hub in partnership with Freedom4girls brought menstrual health education, practical skills and sustainable period solutions closer to girls at Lifepool Chapel, Kisumu, reaching 68 adolescent girls from Manyatta and Kondele slums.

We were honoured to be joined by Dr. Tina, CEO of Freedom4girls, and our valued local partner CHILD Ambassadors Development CAD., whose collaboration continues to strengthen community-led action for girls' dignity and wellbeing.

🌸 What did we do?
The girls received practical and age-appropriate menstrual health education, covering menstrual hygiene, body awareness, safe menstrual practices, cup use and the importance of breaking the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation.

They were also trained and supported with reusable menstrual cups, providing a sustainable menstrual product designed to serve for up to 10 years when properly cared for. This means a girl can have a reliable period-management solution for years while reducing the recurring cost and waste associated with disposable products.

Why does this matter?
Period poverty is not simply about lacking menstrual products. It is also about lack of information, affordability, dignity, safe facilities and the confidence to manage menstruation without shame.

For girls in underserved communities, addressing these barriers can mean greater confidence, improved menstrual hygiene practices, reduced anxiety around periods and fewer disruptions to their daily lives and education.

Our purpose is simple:
Equip girls with knowledge.
Provide sustainable solutions.
Build confidence.
Protect dignity.

Create opportunities.
The 68 girls reached at Lifepool Chapel are not just beneficiaries—they are young women with dreams, ambitions and futures worth investing in.

We believe that a period should never stand between a girl and her education, confidence, health or dreams.

This is more than distributing menstrual cups. It is about giving girls knowledge, choice, dignity and the power to manage their periods with confidence. 💙
68 girls. One community. One shared commitment. A stronger step toward ending period poverty.

Together, with communities and partners, we can create a generation where every girl can learn, participate, lead and dream—without her period holding her back.

79 Young Mums. One Powerful Step Towards Dignity. 💜

On 19 August 2026, Odi Agency Hub, in partnership with Freedom4Girls UK, held a transformative menstrual health empowerment event at Kasagam Youth Resource Centre.

We were honoured to have Dr. Tina Leslie MBE (FRSA) CEO of Freedom4girls, and Miss Lydia lead trainer freedom4girls Kenya, join us alongside our partners, Nyalenda Young Turks and CHILD Ambassadors Development CAD. as we reached 79 young mums from Nyalenda, Manyatta and Kondele slums.

The participants received practical training on menstrual health, STIs and Reporting Procedures, and the use of reusable menstrual cups, with cups provided to support safe, dignified and sustainable menstrual care. 🌸

A reusable menstrual cup can serve for up to 10 years when properly cared for, making it not only a menstrual health solution but also a long-term investment in dignity, affordability and sustainability.

This was more than a training—it was about building confidence, breaking period poverty and ensuring every girl and woman can manage her period with dignity.

💜 Why Menstrual Cups?

A small cup can make a big difference. 🌸

Odi Agency Hub received 2000 menstrual cups and training materials from Freedom4girls for menstrual drives in kisumu and its environs.
Save the date - be part of the new project launch MENSTRUAL CUPS PROJECT.
Menstrual cups offer a safe, reusable, cost-effective and sustainable option for managing periods—helping girls and women experience greater comfort, confidence and dignity while reducing menstrual waste.

Together, let’s break the stigma, expand menstrual health choices, and ensure every girl can stay in school and every woman can live her life without period-related barriers.

Safe. Reusable. Sustainable. Dignified. 💜🌍

285 GIRLS. ONE MESSAGE: PERIOD POVERTY MUST END.

At Xaverian School, Kisumu County, Odi Agency Hub had the opportunity to train and provide reusable sanitary pads to 285 girls in Junior Secondary School, combining menstrual health education with practical support for menstrual dignity.

The response from both the girls and teachers was incredibly encouraging. The girls asked questions openly, shared their experiences, and expressed the need for more regular menstrual health sessions. Teachers also highlighted the importance of continued engagement beyond a single pad distribution.

But we know that a pad drive alone is not enough.
That is why we went a step further. 💪🏾
🌸 A Menstrual Health Club has been established at the school to support continued discussions, peer learning and follow-up.
🌸 Student menstrual health champions were selected to lead peer conversations, share accurate information and encourage girls to speak openly about menstruation without shame or fear.
🌸 The school community is now better equipped to continue conversations around menstrual health, dignity, hygiene and wellbeing.
Our message is clear:
🚫 No girl should fear her period.
🚫 No girl should miss learning because she cannot afford menstrual products.
🚫 No girl should be exploited or taken advantage of because she needs menstrual products or basic support.
🚫 Menstruation should never be a source of shame.
Period poverty is not just about the absence of pads. It is about dignity, safety, education, health and opportunity.
We are grateful for the menstrual health training materials,Reusable Pads and support from Freedom4girls, which strengthened the education component of this intervention, and to StoryMakersSociety for partnering with us in reaching and empowering the girls.

The goal is bigger than today's 285 girls.
We want to build informed, confident girls who can speak about menstruation without fear, support one another, stay in school and grow into empowered women.

One school. 285 girls. A health club. New champions. And a community committed to ending period poverty. 🌍🩸 Agency HubTOP NewsMASENO GIRL CHILD EMPOWERMENT Youth Rise Initiative Community Based OrganizationYALI RLC EA - Alumni Chapter of KenyaGeorge NyaureYoung African Leaders Initiative NetworkMenstrual Hygiene Day - Global

A New Partnership for Menstrual Dignity & Women’s Empowerment!

Today, Odi Agency Hub and Menstrualdemy held a successful strategic partnership meeting focused on building practical, sustainable solutions to menstrual health challenges across Kenya and beyond.

We are excited to work together on:
🎓 Training of Trainers (ToT) – building a strong network of trained educators, community champions, youth leaders, and women who can take menstrual health knowledge further.
🏅 Training & Certification – supporting participants with structured learning and certification that strengthens their skills, confidence, and opportunities.
👩🏾‍🦱 Women’s Economic Empowerment – connecting menstrual health with entrepreneurship, reusable pad production, savings, SACCOs, and sustainable livelihoods through Her Dignity, Her Enterprise.
🏫 Schools & Community Outreach – reaching girls, boys, parents, teachers, and community leaders with practical menstrual health knowledge and support.

Scaling Impact – combining Menstrualdemy’s expertise with Odi Agency Hub’s grassroots networks to reach more communities and build a sustainable menstrual health ecosystem.

This partnership is built on one shared belief:
Menstrual dignity should not depend on where a girl is born or how much her family earns.

Together, we are moving from awareness to skills, from skills to opportunity, and from opportunity to lasting impact.

A big thank you to the Menstrualdemy team for the productive conversation and shared commitment. This is only the beginning. 🚀

Menstrual health is not just a girls' issue—it is a community issue.

At Odi Agency Hub, we intentionally involve boys and young men in our menstrual health programmes because lasting change happens when everyone understands, supports, and advocates for dignity and equality.

Through our school and community engagements, we train boys on the facts about menstruation, challenge harmful myths and stigma, and encourage respectful conversations around menstrual health. We equip them to become allies who support their sisters, classmates, and friends instead of contributing to discrimination, teasing, or shame.

When boys understand menstrual health, they help create safer schools, more inclusive communities, and environments where girls feel confident attending class every day. They become advocates who speak out against period stigma, promote gender equality, and encourage empathy and respect.

Our approach goes beyond distributing menstrual products. We are building a generation of informed young people—both girls and boys—who understand that menstrual dignity is a human dignity issue.

By empowering boys to become champions of menstrual health, we are creating communities where girls can learn, lead, and thrive without fear, stigma, or barriers.

Together, we can end period stigma, promote gender equality, and ensure that every young person plays a role in building healthier and more inclusive communities.
