ELPA Executive Director paid a courtesy call to the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health and the Chief Officer for Clinical Services in Uasin Gishu County to discuss potential areas of partnership and collaboration in advancing the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere (EWENE) initiative.

The engagement focused on strengthening collective efforts to improve maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health outcomes through community engagement, health advocacy, media partnerships, citizen-led accountability, and evidence-based interventions. Discussions also explored opportunities for joint programming aimed at reducing preventable maternal and newborn deaths and ensuring that women, newborns, and vulnerable populations have access to quality and equitable healthcare services.

ELPA appreciates the county leadership's commitment to improving health outcomes and looks forward to building a strong partnership that contributes to healthier communities and the achievement of universal health coverage.

Cluster 2 Bi-Annual Agenda Setting Meeting | (TUNU)

ELPA, as a member organization of the Uasin Gishu CSO Network, joined fellow civil society actors in the Cluster 2 Bi-Annual Agenda Setting Meeting under the (TUNU) Project held in Uasin Gishu County.
The engagement provided a platform for strengthening the capacity of local CSOs to advance accountability, transparency, and meaningful citizen participation in governance processes. Participants reviewed and analyzed key public planning and budgeting documents, including Political Manifestos, County Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs), Annual Development Plans (ADPs), County Budgets, OCoB Reports, and Auditor General Reports.
Through sector-based analysis, project tracing, grading exercises, and action planning sessions, participants enhanced their knowledge and skills in monitoring public resource utilization and advocating for effective and responsive service delivery.
We extend our appreciation to Tisa Kenya , the European Union in Kenya , Transparency International. Kenya, and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) for their continued support in empowering civil society organizations to champion good governance and the fight against corruption.
Together, we remain committed to strengthening accountability, promoting transparency, and ensuring citizens' voices shape development priorities.

We were honoured to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Uasin Gishu Civil Society Network as a proud member organisation.
The meeting provided a great platform for reflection, engagement, networking, and strengthening collaboration among civil society actors committed to community development and positive social change.
We appreciate the leadership of the network and all member organisations for their continued dedication towards empowering communities and advancing impactful initiatives. Together, we are stronger and more effective in creating sustainable change.

Drugs and substance abuse continue to be a serious menace affecting almost every household and slowing down development in our communities.

Together with other stakeholders, we carried out a sensitization exercise to raise awareness and explore lasting solutions. We also discussed rehabilitation pathways and empowering affected individuals through income-generating activities such as tree seedling production, fishing, and other sustainable opportunities.

We are commitment to restoring hope and building a healthier society.

Empowering a woman means empowering a family, and empowering families means building stronger communities.

Together with our partners, we joined the world in celebrating International Women's Day in Uasin Gishu County, honoring the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in our communities.

The day featured engaging activities including a procession that was flagged off by our Chief Guest, Hon. Linah Jebii Kilimo, former Chairperson of the Anti-FGM Board of Kenya and former Member of Parliament for Marakwet East Constituency.

We also held a powerful panel discussion on the theme “Justice, Rights, and Action for All Women and Girls,” with panelists drawn from different sectors who shared valuable insights and experiences.

Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to advancing the rights, dignity, and empowerment of women and girls in our communities. 💜
