Yesterday marked a significant milestone for the Uasin Gishu Civil Society Network, as we held our Annual General Meeting, themed "Amplifying Civil Society Voices for Partnership and Sustainable Development."

It was an inspiring gathering focused on enhancing good governance and fostering sustainable community initiatives.
We recognized the critical role that civil society plays in advocating for social justice and creating impactful partnerships that drive development.

We were honored to have Dr. Seline Korir, founder of Rural Women Peace Link, deliver a powerful keynote address. Her insights on empowering communities, especially women, serve as a beacon for our efforts in promoting peace and development. Chairperson Mr. David Busienei, National Chairperson of the FLOCCA Steering Committee, also emphasized the importance of collaboration between civil society and government to ensure that community needs are prioritized and addressed effectively.

The impact of the CSO network is felt across Uasin Gishu, where we are committed to promoting accountability, transparency, and inclusive participation in governance. Together, we are amplifying the voices of our communities, ensuring they are heard, and laying the groundwork for sustainable development.

Here's to continuing this important work and creating a brighter future for all! Gratitude to the whole team We love you all team, gracing the event;

The engaging discussions highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and civic responsibility in our society. We aim to empower individuals to stand against corruption and advocate for their rights.

Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their voices.

We continue to promote integrity and justice in our community.

As we celebrate progress in women's and girls' rights, it's essential to reflect on the findings of the recently released report by UN Women titled "Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals: The Global Goals for Women and Girls."

This comprehensive report underscores the strides and challenges still faced in achieving gender equality worldwide.

Key Highlights from the Report:
Education Access: While significant gains have been made in girls' education, millions are still out of school. The report highlights the need for systemic changes to ensure every girl can complete her education.

Health and Safety: The need for comprehensive health services, including reproductive health, is emphasized as vital for empowering women and mitigating gender-based violence.

Economic Empowerment: Promoting women's participation in the workforce is crucial for economic growth. The report calls for initiatives to support women entrepreneurs and close the gender pay gap.

At Kerio Rights, we are committed to advancing women's and girls' rights through various impactful initiatives. Our efforts include:
Advocacy: We work tirelessly to influence policymakers to enact stronger laws that protect and promote the rights of women and girls.

Local Empowerment Programs: Our grassroots projects focus on empowering women to become self-sufficient and economically independent.
