Smoke. Ash. 14 families in Majengo watching their homes disappear.

Asha wasn't there. She was at school. That's the only reason she's alive today.

Her mother said it plainly: the house, the wheelchair, the birth certificate, all replaceable. Asha is not. She cannot speak. She cannot call for help. If she'd been home, this story ends differently.

Almost 30 children were affected in this fire. Asha is one of them, and she's part of our Children of Rahma special needs program.

We're on the ground assessing what these 14 families need to rebuild, starting with the ones who have the least room for error.

A day of celebrating effort, growth, and the bright possibilities ahead.

Through our Orphan Care Program, HDF was honoured to join the school community for its Prize Giving Day, with our CEO present to celebrate the children and recognise their hard work, determination, and achievements.

Every smile, every achievement, and every moment of celebration reminds us that when children are supported, encouraged, and given the opportunity to learn, they can dream beyond their circumstances and build a future filled with possibility.

In the aftermath of the fire in Eastleigh, families were left picking up the pieces, facing the difficult reality of losing the comfort and security of home.

HDF came through with mattresses, bedding, blankets, and food, providing essentials to help families get through the days following the fire.

A mattress to sleep on. A blanket to keep warm. Food for the day. Small things, perhaps, but when you have lost so much, they can mean a great deal. HDF was honoured to stand with these families as they begin putting their lives back together.

At the Special Needs Outreach Centre in South C, care went beyond a simple health check.

Our children were gently examined, listened to, and given the attention they deserve.

HDF was honoured to welcome Dr. Mohammad Alshoboul, HDF MENA Regional Director and Dr. Mohamed Refaat, Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Sudan, for a visit at the Islamic University of Kenya that brought together shared experiences, perspectives and a common commitment to serving communities with dignity.

The visit was an opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships and reflect on the importance of collaboration in responding to the needs of communities across the region.

Beyond the meetings and discussions, moments like these remind us that lasting impact is built when people and organisations come together, listen, learn and work towards a future where no community is left behind.

The leaders of tomorrow are sitting in our classrooms today. 🤍💛💙

During our visit to the Islamic University of Kenya (IUK), we were reminded that investing in students is more than supporting their education. It is investing in their dreams, their potential, and the communities they will one day serve.

Through HDF’s support at IUK, students have received more than scholarships. They have been supported with essential needs, accommodation, food, career guidance, Da’wah programs, and opportunities to grow beyond the classroom.

Because when we invest in a student, we are not only changing one life. We are helping shape a generation of leaders who can change many more.

HDF's CEO visited the Islamic University of Kenya last weekend. A meaningful stop rooted in partnership and shared purpose.

He met with the Vice Chancellor, board members, and university leadership to discuss the institution's growth and future. He also took time to tour the campus and connect with students and staff, planting trees to mark the visit and leave something lasting behind.

He gave a khutbah at the university mosque, a moment that brought the community together in reflection and gratitude. The warmth and hospitality shown by IUK made clear how deep this relationship runs, and HDF is proud to stand with a university shaping the next generation of leaders.
