CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

It is with profound sorrow and deep sadness that we mourn the tragic, heinous, and senseless killing of Mwalimu Kimachas Wiseman. This heartbreaking incident, which occurred along the Cheptais Booster-Kapsesoi Road, has robbed Cheptiya Comprehensive School, the education fraternity and the entire community of a dedicated, hardworking and committed teacher.

On behalf of Elgon Centre for Education ( Kenya), we extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Mwalimu Kimachas Wiseman, his colleagues, learners, friends and the entire Cheptiya Comprehensive School community during this painful and difficult time. We pray that God grants you strength, comfort and peace as you come to terms with this immeasurable loss.

ECE strongly condemns this barbaric and inhumane act and calls upon the relevant security agencies to conduct thorough and expeditious investigations to ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice in accordance with the law. Justice must prevail for the sake of the bereaved family and to safeguard the security of our communities.

We further urge members of the public to remain calm and allow the law to take its course. As a community, let us continue to embrace peaceful coexistence, dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding as the only acceptable means of resolving disputes.

We also appeal to security agencies, the Nyumba Kumi initiative, local leaders and the community at large to strengthen security patrols along the Cheptais Booster-Kapsesoi Road, particularly during the night, to protect innocent residents and road users.

Additionally, we call upon the relevant authorities to expedite the implementation of the Last Mile Electricity Project in Sirkani and its surrounding areas to improve lighting and enhance public safety.

May the soul of Mwalimu Kimachas Wiseman rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy of service and dedication to education continue to inspire generations to come.

Boards of Management (BOM) in schools plays a great supportive role and management of resources and creating safe spaces for learning to thrive.

Over the years, majority of the BOM Members lacked the capacity to manage schools and oftenly accused of overstepping their mandate.

For the last three days, our Founder and CEO Mr. Abdulkarim Taraja actively participated in the 3-day intesive capacity building for the BOM Members and Heads Of Institutions (HOIs) from Cheptais and Kopsiro Sub-Counties held at Kimabole Friends Church.
Mr. Taraja also made contributions on the Conflict Analysis Models and conflict transformation in imroving the management of schools.

Through Education Management Institute (KEMI), the government of Kenya is investing in the capacity of school governance in a move of in the Era.

The training was organized by the Kenya Comprehensive Schools Heads Associations (KECSHA) from Cheptais and Kopsiro.
