Volunteer internships are a mechanism for giving high-caliber university students and recent graduates a structured work experience at an early stage in their career. In a competitive professional world, Kenya Red Cross acknowledges that internships are an essential component in young professionals’ employment portfolio, which is why we wish to invite strong candidates to apply for our volunteer p
rogram. Our volunteer program is designed to give students an opportunity to gain experience by participating in the daily activities of the Kenya Red Cross, as well as pursue a field-specific internship or conduct first-hand research. During their weeks of residence in Bungoma, the volunteer will follow the daily schedule of the KRCS Bungoma. Weekly events may include first-aid training, participating in family reunification programs, peer education, social programs at children’s homes, and community work at local hospitals. In addition to the weekly schedule, interns will be given a second placement with one of KRCS Bungoma’s local partner NGOs, e.g. in the field of health, human rights, agriculture, or business/economics. The internship is open to everyone, but priority will be given to applicants with a background in the following academic genres: health/medicine, education, social work, social sciences, and economics. Interested individuals should contact Yvonne via [email protected] with a resume, cover letter, and letter of recommendation from a previous institution.
