This week we raise our voices on Femicide and reflect on what the Taskforce Report means to the prevention of Femicide in Kenya and how participation of communities in rural and peri-urban spaces in Kenya shape the agenda of prevention of Femicide. We must ensure justice for victims and restorative justice to their families. We call upon the President of Kenya to ensure the task force report is not gathering dust but that it's implementation is fully financed.

The use of methodologies of music, storytelling and games is key to enhancing child centered learning and social development. In our Schools and Community Linkages Program this is a key methodology for holistic child development. The cultural practice of many African Communities was to engage children in practical learning to enable them become custodians of rich positive traditional beliefs and cultural practices of ecosystem development including understanding herbs and medicinal plants and how to ensure their survival or how play is a component of teamwork weaving a social tapestry of talking and working with each other and resolving issues collectively. The use of stories and using local available materials to create tools for play enhanced innovation in Children and it's important to have Children co-create their play tools. Children are our future - What investment do we want to make to ensure sound leadership and management of resources. Teach and show them the world we want that ensures equity and equality for all with child centered methodologies. Looking forward to weaving this tapestry through the thoughts and ideas of children.

Moments like these remind us why safe spaces for young women matter; At the beginning of the month we held a series of "Dadaz Garage" - Young womens Dialogue on TVET and Blue Economy across 4 counties I. E Kisumu, Busia, Siaya and Homa bay.

During the dialogues the young women were guided through a collective reflection process, allowing them to reclaim their right to skills training for economic independence. The young women had a platform to challenge stereotypes that limit their participation in TVET and the Blue Economy and imagined new futures for themselves.

For many young women, challenges like gender discrimination, poverty and social exclusion intersect - creating a triple that keeps them out of skills training. Under the partnership with CICan in Kenya and our respective BE Ambassadors we remain committed to addressing these barriers together not in isolation.

We remain grateful for the contributions made by representatives from various VTCs and TTIs I. E , and .

On the second month and at www.kefeado.org we are reflective of meaningful engagement with communities on public financing and gender transformative budgets. How does this work and how do we frame budget making processes to be community driven and transformative? This year has 48 weeks left. It's going to be interesting to unpack budgets within each county and ask each countyzen to think of how to participate in the next cycle of County Intergrated Development Plans and the subsequent Annual Development Plans.Plug in to our weekly conversations. Let's reflect this week onhttps://www.treasury.go.ke/sites/default/files/Draft-2026-Budget-Policy-Statement.pdf
