Communities in Mutarakwa Ward are stepping forward to build resilience against climate and disaster risks through the Participatory Assessment of Climate and Disaster Risks (PACDR) training organized by Tenwek Hospital Community Health and Development at Roromwet Oldabach ward, Bomet Central Sub-county.

The engagement brought together elderly men and women, and youth aged 18–35 years to collectively identify climate challenges, assess vulnerabilities, and develop practical community-led solutions.

Through participatory discussions on climate change, disaster preparedness, adaptation, and resilience building, the community is taking bold steps toward a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future.

Together, we are empowering communities to move from vulnerability to resilience. πŸŒπŸ’š

Learning becomes practical when students engage directly.

School gardens teach nutrition and science at the same time.
Students plant, observe, and apply knowledge daily.

You build skills that last beyond the classroom.
You shape healthier habits early.

What happens when every school adopts this model?

πŸ•ŠοΈ Peace Starts With Us
Yesterday, Tenwek Hospital Community Health and Development officially launched a 20-month peace prayer campaign at AGC Cheptenye Area, Kericho County, a bold step in preparing communities for peaceful 2027 elections.

Church leaders, community members, and newly commissioned peace champions came together with one mission: to promote dialogue, reconciliation, and unity before, during, and after the election period.

This campaign reminds us that peace is not passive β€” it requires action, sacrifice, and personal responsibility.

No meaningful development can thrive in conflict. Healthy communities, economic progress, and social growth all depend on peace and stability.

To every church member and community member: You are not a bystander; you are a peacemaker.
The choices we make today in our words, actions, and how we treat one another will shape the 2027 elections.

Peace starts with you. πŸ€πŸ•ŠοΈ

AGC Tenwek Hospital, through the Community Health and Development department, has launched a 20-month journey of prayer and action for peace.

This initiative places responsibility on every individual to promote harmony before, during, and after elections.

Yesterday in Ntulele, Transmara, peace champions were commissioned to lead dialogue, reconciliation, and community engagement.

Peace must be intentional.
Peace must be practiced.
Peace must start with you.

Today marks a powerful milestone at Tenwek Hospital Community Health and Development!
12 incredible students from vulnerable communities just graduated from our Threads of Hope tailoring programβ€”equipped not just with skills, but with HOPE and opportunity!
After 11 transformative months of training, each graduate walked away with:
βœ… A Certificate of Completion
βœ… Their own sewing machine
βœ… A Start-up kit
βœ… The power to change their story
These graduates from Cohorts 10 & 11 join 56 skilled tailors we've trained since inceptionβ€”56 lives transformed, 56 families empowered, 56 futures rewritten!
This incredible journey wouldn't be possible without our partners @ AGC Bethesda and the unwavering support of Friends of Tenwek. Together, we're not just teaching tailoring; we're weaving dignity, independence, and sustainable livelihoods into our community.
Every stitch tells a story. Every graduate represents hope. This is what transformation looks like!

Tenwek Hospital Community Health and Development trained field staff last week to strengthen support for farmers under the Agro-ecology program.

Our goal is simple.

β€’ Help you improve soil health.
β€’ Help you increase crop production.
β€’ Help you make informed decisions on your farm.

We partnered with CROPNUTS to equip our team with practical skills in soil testing. This will enable staff to advise farmers on what their soils require and how to improve them.

Why this matters to you:

β€’ Soil with the right nutrients supports stronger plant growth.
β€’ Soil stores carbon, which helps reduce greenhouse gases.
β€’ Healthy soil increases food production and strengthens food security.
β€’ Soil filters and holds water, supporting crops even during dry periods.
β€’ Soil hosts organisms that improve nutrient cycling and support pest control.
β€’ Good soil structure improves root growth and water movement.

You can now test your soil and receive technical advice tailored to your farm.

What nutrients does your soil lack?
What yields could you unlock with the right information?

Our team is ready to support you.
