Ripple effect!! In just a few months , the water tank we installed back in June for City Carton slum, has saved enough money to start a small farmland. The group of women running the farm are now selling the vegetables and corn to locals and making further income. These families not only have water and food daily but also have a sense of purpose and togetherness which they did not have before 🥰🥰

This past February, I embarked on a trip to Nairobi, Kenya to volunteer for three weeks. I enrolled in a program that combined Community Outreach and Women's Empowerment. It was a life changing experience. Since my return, I started a charity called WATER PROJECT KENYA in an effort to raise money to deliver a water tank that will
provide clean, affordable water for the slum City Carton, where I spent a lot of my time.

For millions of people...dirty, diseased water leads to a cycle of sickness, lack of education, poverty and lost hope. It's needless suffering.

Anna Lokwa is a grandmother aged 75 years. She lives in City Carton, one of the forgotten slums in Mlolongo,Kenya. She lives with 10 dependents in a one-room house made of cartons and plastics bags.

There is no available clean or affordable water near by. As a result, she resorts to collecting water from the stream near the slum. This stream contains sewage and run-off from surrounding factories. The water is brown, filled with chemicals and waste, and is not suitable for washing clothes, let alone human consumption.
Please visit our website www.waterprojectkenya.com
For more information on how we can help Anna and her family.

Collecting water is a task that falls largely to women and girls as part of keeping house. The time spent on this chore often means girls miss school and women miss out on the chance to earn a decent living.

In the world's worst slums, people often pay five to 10 times more than wealthy people in cities such as Britain or the US. And the water the poor do get is often contaminated, spreading diseases that kill people or leave them unable to work. Please donate to Water Project Kenya to help raise money for a water tank for one of these slums. One tank can provide 40L a day of clean and affordable water to all the families.
