THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FORESTS,21/3/2025
THEME:"FORESTS AND FOOD"
The global celebration of forests provides a platform to raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests and celebrate the ways in which they sustain and protect mankind.
This Day is held annually on 21st march to raise awareness of the importance of forests to people and their vital role in poverty eradication, environmental sustainability and "FOOD SECURITY".
In connection to the above, we'd like to express our sincere gratitude for the presence and participation of the area chiefs, the Vox Radio team, The Earth lungs, the Lower Tana Delta conservancy and the NATURE KENYA conservancy. More over,our special thanks go to Mr Ziro; the Deputy Sub county conservator, who played a key role in making sure that the objective of the event was smoothly achieved.
Genuinely, we, the chara CFA flag bearers are deeply thankful for all the support and enthusiasm that you've brought to this Day's event, making it a success. Thank you all and may the Almighty God bless the chara community, Tana river, and Kenya at large 🙏🙏✔️

CHIEFS CLIMATE ACTION DAY:
It's a monthly initiative in Kenya that encourages chiefs to mobilize their communities to plant trees and engage in environmental education in the first Friday of every month.
IMPORTANCE OF THE CHIEFS CLIMATE ACTION DAY:
>It helps Kenya achieve its goal of planting 15billion trees by 2032.
>It helps to address climate security challenges by educating communities about climate change and fostering early warning systems
>Chiefs are well-connected to their communities and can help drive local engagement
>Chiefs can help ensure sustainability by coordinating resources and efforts at the local level
>Chiefs who participate in the Day are recognised as climate champions
>This Day demonstrates how localised actions like DEFORESTATION can have a real impact.
Today,6th,being the first Friday of December2024,chara community led by the area chiefs,has positively taken the initiative by planting almost 2000 mangrove propagules as part of the efforts to help address climate security challenges.
The initiative is part of the government's response to climate-induced migration, which can cause social tensions and put pressure on our resources. The chiefs are well-positioned to drive local engagement and ensure sustainability because of their close ties to their communities.
In connection to the above;our special thanks go to Mr Anna Garse and mwanajuma Salim; the area chiefs, chara. Mr Abdullah; the area chief konemansa. Mr Maulid; the area chief handaraku. Not forgetting Mr Mohamed and James; the EARTH LUNGS co-ordinators, our forest rangers,Mr Ali Abdalla Tambo(Asfongo); the chairperson chara CFA who was a credit to the general activity and all those who physically took part in the planting activity making the whole exercise a success!
The monthly CHIEFS CLIMATE ACTION DAY aims to instill a sense of pride and responsibility within communities,reinforcing the idea that every tree planted brings the nation closer to a greener future!
