This week, TRANSFORM SAMBURU AFFİRMATİVE PROJECT, together with the Global Conservation Community mourns the loss of a true pioneer — Dr. Iain Douglas-Hamilton.

A visionary scientist, champion for Africa’s elephants, and founder of Save the Elephants, Iain devoted his life to understanding these majestic giants.. His groundbreaking research in the 1970s laid the foundation for modern elephant conservation, and his resolute advocacy helped shape international policy to protect elephant populations from poaching and habitat loss. His work quite literally changed the course of conservation history.

In 1993, he founded , pioneering GPS-tracking, aerial monitoring, and community-driven conservation efforts across Kenya and beyond.. His vision inspired countless collaborators, including organizations like Tsavo Trust building a legacy of cooperation and hope..

Though Iain is gone, his impact lives on: thousands of elephants roam free thanks to his work, and a world once unaware of their worth now cherishes and protects them.

Iain Douglas-Hamilton’s compassion, courage, and tenacity will continue to guide generations of conservationists and animal lovers. His legacy is eternal. 💛

Forests generate priceless benefits for the planet: capturing carbon, generating rain and supplying food, medicine, wood and countless other products.

But neglected forests can quickly turn into liabilities.

From escalating wildfire to exacerbated droughts, we’re already starting to see a shift around the globe. The question is: Will it trigger action? https://go.wri.org/forests-assets-liabilities

The world remembers Jane Goodall—not just for her science, but for her humanity.

On Wednesday, the world lost a voice that reminded us that real change doesn’t come from shouting past each other, but from listening—even when it’s hardest—and having the courage to engage.

Her life was proof that empathy and dialogue can transform not only how we see the natural world, but also how we see one another. Let’s carry that forward.

Happy World Humanitarian Day from! TRANSFORM SAMBURU AFFİRMATİVE PROJECT

On this day, we honor the humanitarians who work tirelessly to help others around the world. These brave people, often working in difficult and dangerous situations, are the truest examples of compassion and selflessness.

This year's theme, "Let's showcase the best of humanity through acts of generosity and care," perfectly captures our mission. It’s a powerful reminder that every one of us has the capacity to make a positive impact, no matter how small. A kind word, a helping hand, or an act of sharing can create a ripple effect of hope and change.

At TSAP, we see this spirit every day in our community—in the farmers working together to conserve their land, in the volunteers dedicated to protecting our environment, and in every person who shows care for their neighbors.

Today, let's celebrate this incredible human spirit by committing to our own acts of generosity and care. Together, we can build a more compassionate and sustainable world for everyone.

Happy World Humanitarian Day!

Happy World Elephant Day!

We're sending a jolly good shout-out to these magnificent beasts..

It's a rather simple truth, really: an elephant can only truly survive if its home, the forest, survives. The two are deeply connected, and the health of one depends entirely on the other.

So, let's all do our bit to look after our planet and its precious woodlands. By protecting the forests, we're giving these incredible creatures a fighting chance.

Here's to a brighter future for elephants and their natural habitats.

Sweden's urban ponds are transforming cities with a powerful, nature-based approach.. These small, engineered ponds are designed to be resilient, capturing and filtering stormwater runoff to prevent flooding and clean urban waterways.. Acting as vibrant green infrastructure, they also create vital habitats for wildlife, boost biodiversity, and offer residents peaceful natural spaces.. By integrating ecology with urban design, Sweden is proving that sustainable cities can be both functional and beautiful..

What a masterpiece! 🌎💚

In Denmark, a unique blend of ecology and design has brought floating islands covered with wildflowers to life in the middle of busy harbors. These man-made islands drift gently on the water’s surface, acting as miniature sanctuaries for birds, bees, and other pollinators. Made from eco-friendly materials, they are anchored in place and planted with native wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs that bloom through the seasons.

In bustling ports where concrete and steel dominate, these islands provide much-needed green space for wildlife to feed, rest, and breed. Birds find safe nesting spots away from predators, while bees and butterflies thrive on the nectar-rich flowers. Beneath the surface, the island structures create underwater habitats, attracting fish and improving marine biodiversity.

The project is more than just a visual delight — it’s an ecological intervention that restores balance in areas heavily affected by human activity. By introducing these floating habitats, Denmark is helping pollinator populations recover and boosting urban biodiversity without sacrificing harbor functionality.

These islands also serve as natural air and water purifiers, absorbing carbon and filtering pollutants. They prove that even in industrial or urban waterways, nature can find a place to flourish when given the right support. It’s a simple yet powerful reminder that sustainable cities can live in harmony with the wild.
