1. The Awake Girls –(TAG)
For girls in slums and rural set ups
Ø Girls at the adolescent age are at risk here. Poverty level is terrifying and as such the girls cannot even afford basic necessities for girls including the menstrual essentials. Girls as such in the past have been subjected to stigmatization as a result of this.
Ø TAG comes as an intervention to this effect to reach out to the girls at the base of the pyramid. Our focus is on girls in the rural set ups and slum areas. We provide them with menstrual hygiene education support and give them sanitary pads. This helps them remain in school as well as avoid social evils such early pregnancy, sexual transmitted diseases, early marriages and school dropout. TAG tags them to school by providing the necessities. The program also gives us the opportunity to minister the word of God. We have seen many teenagers come to Christ.
