Yesterday, Rise Empowerment CBO held a heartfelt closing event after a two-week mentorship workshop with young girls during the school holiday. The girls showcased what they learned, shared their experiences, and celebrated their growth with confidence and joy.

Parents joined us to witness this proud moment, and we were honoured to host Hon Jadolo Robert Nyasuna aspiring MP for Muhoroni Constituency, who encouraged the girls with inspiring words of wisdom.

This workshop has strengthened knowledge, built confidence, and created a strong support network among the girls.

As we move forward, Rise Empowerment CBO will continue expanding mentorship spaces, deepening community involvement, and creating more opportunities for girls to learn and thrive.

🌟 Rise & Shine Workshop 2025 — Two Weeks of Empowerment! 🌟

This long school holiday can be a vulnerable time for many girls, with too much unstructured time and limited safe spaces. To respond to this need, Rise Empowerment CBO hosted a 3.5-hour daily, two-week empowerment workshop designed to keep girls engaged, learning, and safe.

Our program focused on:

💛 Menstrual Health & Hygiene (MHH)
In-depth, practical learning to build confidence and break stigma.

💛 Life Skills, Self-Discovery & Leadership
Girls explored leadership, financial literacy, goal setting, personal planning, and identifying their strengths and talents.

💛 Human Rights, Safety & Self-Advocacy
Through role-play and real-life scenarios, they learned their rights, how to set boundaries, and how to advocate for themselves.

We are proud of the confidence, courage, and growth we witnessed. When girls have the right support, they rise — and so do their communities.

Thank you to our facilitators, volunteers, partners, and the amazing girls who showed up every day with energy and curiosity. 💛✨

On 9th October 2025, Rise Empowerment CBO joined the global community in celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child at Nyarenda Comprehensive School under the theme “The girl i am ,the change i lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis".The event focused on raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and sexual and reproductive health addressing the challenges adolescent girls face during their menstrual periods, including stigma and lack of access to sanitary products. To support their well-being and dignity, Rise Empowerment distributed 240 reusable pads (2 per girl), 20 litres of liquid soap, and 120 panties (1 per girl). The initiative not only equipped girls with essential hygiene materials but also fostered confidence, self-awareness, and empowerment, ensuring that no girl misses school or opportunities because of her period.

Two of our members participated in the Capacity Strengthening Workshop for Civil Society Organizations held at the Sarova Imperial Hotel, Kisumu, from September 24th – 26th, 2025.

The workshop enhanced their technical and organizational skills in governance, accountability, resource mobilization, and program delivery. This learning opportunity not only empowered our team but also strengthen our network with like-minded organisations commited to advancing community development. We remain commited to applying this insights to scale up our impact and better serve the community we represent.

Hello friends, we hope you are doing well.

Our next school visit to Katolo is scheduled for the second week after schools open next month. We will be engaging with 180 girls and 100 boys on Sexual and reproductive health sessions and Mental health and we are kindly seeking your support.

For boys: boxers
General: pens & soaps
