For those who want to be involved in community activities and use their skills, we hold intercultural events and offer international people the chance to be a cultural event facilitator. We hold a workshop based on the cult
ure of one’s home country, which would feature music, dance, arts and crafts, sewing or home cooking. Also, in response to the needs of international people who want to learn Japanese cooking and culture, we hold a class offered by a Japanese facilitator.
２） OYACO playgroup session in English and easy Japanese
英語とやさしい日本語での親子交流会の開催
We hold a monthly playgroup (gathering) for international families who are raising kids from 0yrs to 6yrs old. Two facilitators will run sessions in English and easy Japanese. Meet parents to share information and make friends for yourself and your little ones!
毎月１回、0〜6歳の子どもと親が参加する遊びの会（交流会）をします。

３）OYACO childcare reference booklet publication 子育て情報冊子OYACOの出版
We know that living with kids in Japan is surprisingly challenging, especially the language barrier. Sometimes it can be difficult for families new to the area to find information. To fill the information gap, SCC members have edited and published the childcare reference booklet OYACO in English and plain Japanese. SCC works on projects which promote a multicultural society by offering various activities, including childcare support.
