認定NPO法人 IVY 認定NPO法人 IVY（アイビー）は、1991年に設立された東北の山形県山形市に本部を置く国際協力NGOです。ウクライナ、イラク、シリア、バングラデシュ、そして日本で活動しています。

「国際協力」「在住外国人支援」「国際理解・環境教育」「災害支援」など様々な事業を行っています。
　2002年度からは外務省NGO相談員として東北６県を担当し、次世代NGOの育成や東北６県のNGOのネットワーキング等を実施。2010年には青年組織としてIVYyouth（アイビーユース）を設立しました。
　東日本大震災では、これまで培われた知識や経験、人脈を生かし、自立復興に向けた支援活動を行っています。

IVY is an organization made up of private citizens. IVY was established in 1991 in Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture, one of the six prefectures in what is known as the Tohoku region of northeast

ern Japan. IVY’s goal is to realize a society where all people on Earth are liberated from their difficulties and are able to live the way human beings should. Towards this goal, we are providing support so that people may greatly improve their own way of life. In Cambodia, IVY is implementing a project for regional development in order to reduce the poverty of farming villages. In Japan, IVY is implementing Japanese language classes, living consultations, the dispatch of medical/legal interpreters, and work support courses for foreigners, as well as developmental education, environmental education, and Chinese language acquisition classrooms for children and students.

🇧🇩🥚🐤🐔先日お伝えした避難民キャンプ周辺地域の住民への鶏小屋の配布について、事業を共同で行っている Mukti Cox's Bazar - মুক্তি কক্‌সবাজারのＳＮＳでも紹介されました。また現地のウェブニュースでも何度も取り上げられています。お盆休みも（もちろん）なく、バングラデシュ事業は進んでいます。今日も雨のなか鶏小屋の配布を完了しました。

🇧🇩🐔The distribution of chicken coops to residents of refugee host communities, which we posted about today, was also featured on the page of Mukti Cox’s Bazar, our partner organisation. 🥰Thank you for your passion and dedication, team! 🥰

This event has also been covered numerous times in local online news. Our projects in Bangladesh are progressing without interruption, even during the ‘Obon period’ (*an annual Buddhism-related holiday in the mid of August in Japan). We completed today’s distribution of chicken coops, even in the heavy rain, too!

【🇧🇩バングラデシュ・ベンガル料理ビュッフェ🍛】
ウキア郡の避難民キャンプと周辺地域を対象に事業をはじめてもうすぐ5か月、早いもので、折り返し地点が近くなっています。

今日は農業専門員を中心に来週からの研修の準備を行いました。昼食は各スタッフが手作りしたベンガル料理です。バングラデシュ各地から、人によってはバスで20時間以上かかる場所から単身で仕事に来ているスタッフもおり、各地の特色が楽しめる料理がたくさん並びました。（味はやはり辛めです。）

毎日忙しく働いていますが、時々バングラデシュの（食）文化についても紹介できればと思っています。

【🇧🇩Bangladesh・Bengali Cuisine Buffet🍚】
It's been almost five months since we started our new project targeting the refugee camps and surrounding areas in Ukhiya, and we're already approaching the halfway point.

Today, we focused on preparing for next week's training, under the instruction of the agricultural technical officer.

Today’s lunch was homemade Bengali dishes prepared by each staff member. Most of our staff members have come from other parts of Bangladesh, some traveling for over 20 hours by bus, so the dishes offered a variety of regional specialties. (As expected, quite spicy.) We're busy working every day, but we hope to introduce Bangladeshi (food) culture on social media as well.

【🇧🇩バングラデシュ・鶏小屋の配布🐓🏠】
今週は、先月の養鶏の研修に参加したキャンプ周辺地域の住民に、鶏小屋を配っています。幸い今月は雨も落ち着いていて、今日は事業地のウキア郡の郡長や畜産局のスタッフも視察に来ていただけました。

鶏小屋を受け取った女性からは「習ったことを生かして、鶏をたくさん増やして売りたい。」など前向きな話を聞くことができました。家から出ることの少ない女性たちが世話ができ、取れた卵や育てた鶏を食べることでたんぱく質を摂ることができ、売ることで収入を得ることもできます。

全員に小屋を配り終えてから、今月中に鶏を各家庭に配布する予定です。

【🇧🇩Bangladesh・Distribution of Chicken Coops🐔🏘】
This week, we are distributing chicken coops to residents in the area surrounding the refugee camp who participated in last month's poultry farming training.

Fortunately, the rain has subsided this month, and today the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (district chief) of Ukhiya, where our project is located, along with staff from the Livestock Department, came to inspect our activities. (Thank you!🥰)

We received positive comments from women who received chicken coops, such as, "I want to use the knowledge I've learned to raise many chickens and sell them." These coops allow women who rarely leave their homes to care for the chickens, obtain protein by eating the eggs they lay and the meat from the chickens they raise, and earn income by selling the chickens and eggs.

After distributing coops to everyone, we will distribute chickens to each household later this month.

【🇧🇩バングラデシュ・堆肥作り研修🐮🪱】
牛を飼っている農家を対象に、牛糞とミミズを混ぜ合わせて作るバーミコンポストの研修を行いました。研修ではバーミコンポストの利点、コンポストの作り方、注意点などを学習しました。

IVYの事業の研修では、まず最初に簡単なテストをして、参加者がトピックについてどれくらい知っているかを確認します。その後に説明を行い、研修の終わりにもう一度同じテストをして、新しく学んだことがしっかり覚えられたかを確かめます。

研修が終わったら、参加者はスタッフの巡回指導を受けながら各自で実際に試してみます。それぞれが自信を持って取り組めるようになることを目標にしています。

【🇧🇩Bangladesh・Compost Making Training🐂🪱】
We conducted training on vermicomposting, a method of making compost by mixing cow manure and earthworms, for farmers who raise cattle. The training covered the advantages of vermicomposting, how to make compost, and important points to note, such as what should not be mixed in.

In all IVY's trainings, we begin with a short test to check participants' knowledge of the topic. Afterward, we start the session, and at the end of the training, we conduct the same test again to confirm that the newly learned knowledge has been retained.

After the training, participants practice composting on their own with the support of staff members. The goal is for each participant to gain confidence in their ability and do it by themselves.

【🇧🇩バングラデシュ・過去事業モニタリング🖊】
IVYは昨年1年間、ラムー郡で自己資金によるパイロット事業を実施しました。今日は約4か月ぶりに事業地を訪れ、朝は大雨が降っていたので農作業はお休み、お茶を飲みながら農家さんから話をうかがいました。
研修で習った苗床の作り方を今も実践していて唐辛子やナスを育てている、配布された種子の育ちがよかったので、同じものを自分で買っている、など事業の学びを生かせていることや、ワクチンを打たなかったので鶏が死んでしまったという今後の課題などたくさんの話を聞くことができました。

雨の中、正午を過ぎると野菜を出荷場に運んでくる人が増え、現地事業統括やスタッフもゴーヤやジンガ（瓜の一種。キュウリに似ていて外の固い皮を剥いて調理します。）を買いました。

この事業の成果をもとに、今年からはラムー郡の新たな場所で3年間の事業を実施しています。

【🇧🇩Bangladesh・Past Project Monitoring🌧】
IVY conducted a self-funded pilot project in Kauarkhop Union, Ramu, for one year last year. Today, we visited the project site for the first time in about four months. It was raining heavily this morning, so farm work was suspended. We had tea and talked with the farmers who worked together with us last year.

They were putting into practice the seed-bed preparation methods they learned in training, growing chili peppers and eggplants. They also said that the seeds distributed during the project grew well, so they bought the same seeds themselves. These stories showed how they were putting what they learned in the project into practice. However, future challenges also emerged, such as chickens dying because they did not get vaccinated.

Despite the rain, people started bringing vegetables to the shipping area in the afternoon, and the project manager and staff also bought bitter gourds and ‘Jhinge’ (Luffa, a type of gourd; it resembles a cucumber, but the tough outer skin is peeled before cooking).

Based on the results of this project, we are now conducting a three-year project in a new location in Ramu.

このたびの熊本県を震源とする地震の被害にあわれた地域の皆様にIVYバングラデシュスタッフ一同、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。

ウキア郡ではキャンプの周辺地域（ホストコミュニティ）に住む住民を対象に鶏の育て方の研修を行いました。研修内容は、飼育にふさわしい環境、餌やりの工夫など。
各参加者はこのあと鶏小屋、水飲み器などを受け取り、飼育の環境が整ったところで鶏が配布されます。

【🇧🇩Bangladesh・Poultry Farming Training🐓】
The entire staff of IVY Bangladesh extends our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the recent earthquake centered in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

In Ukhia, we conducted training on raising chickens for residents in the surrounding areas (host communities) of the refugee camp. The training covered topics such as creating a suitable environment for raising chickens and effective feeding techniques.
After this, each participant will receive a chicken coop, water dispenser, etc., and once the environment for raising chickens is ready, the chickens will be distributed to them.
