According to the weather forecast, Typhoon No. 6 will approach Osaka on the morning of Tuesday, June 3, 2026.

From the night of June 2nd to the morning of June 3rd, there may be strong winds, rising river levels, and heavy rain. Please be careful. Check television and the internet for information about the typhoon.

[Call for Participants] We are looking for foreign nationals and people with foreign roots to teach their native languages and cultures at elementary schools in Toyonaka City!

Toyonaka City offers a program called the “Elementary School International Education Promotion Project,” in which foreign residents introduce their native languages and cultures to students in grades 2 through 6.
We are currently seeking foreign nationals and people with foreign roots to teach classes as part of this program!
If you would like to participate in this program or are interested in doing so, please contact the Toyonaka International Association by email, phone, or in person at our office.
★ To participate in the program, you must be a foreign national or a person with foreign roots living in or near Toyonaka City, and be able to speak Japanese to some extent.
★You will be paid 1,550 yen per lesson as an honorarium (transportation expenses will be paid separately).

We are especially looking for people who speak Portuguese, Filipino, or French, have ties to those countries, and can teach about their cultures!

The children are very much looking forward to your visit to the school. We hope you will join us.

Osaka Prefecture is offering rice coupons or food support to help child-rearing, young people, and families in the community.

▶Who can Apply
You are eligible if you qualify under any of the following:
① People aged 18 or below, living in Osaka
② Pregnant individuals living in Osaka
③ Those born between April 2, 2003, and April 1, 2008, with an address in Osaka
*③Even if you are not currently living in Osaka, you may still be able to apply if your family home is in Osaka.

▶ Period of Application
June 25, 2026 (Thursday), until 11:59PM

▶ What you can receive… Select either item A or B
A. Rice Coupon worth 10,000 yen (through app called region PAY [Okome Pay Osaka])
B. Food product selected from the website catalog

▶ How to Apply
Application via online.
 A parent or guardian should apply for people 18 years of age and below
 Pregnant applicants and those aged 19 – 22 can apply themselves.
*If you have more than one child, please submit one application per child.

▶ What Will You Need to Apply
Document that shows the applicant’s name, date of birth, current address
・・・My Number card, Residence card, Driver’s license, Insurance card, etc.
*Make sure your My Number and Insurance number are not visible when submitting the document.
  **If the current address is written at the back of the card, please submit that as well.
*For applicants aged 19 up to 22, and those who are not currently living in Osaka, you will need a document that confirms your family home is in Osaka, and a document that proves your family relationship with the relatives living in Osaka.
E.g.:A certificate of residence(juminhyo) that shows the head of the household and the relationship to the applicant, but doesn’t show the My number, and that proves the relationship with a parent or similar who resides in Osaka Prefecture. A family registration (Koseki Tohon) that does not include the registered domicile (honseki).

You can borrow books in various languages at Toyonaka International Center.

The center offers a wide selection of books in different languages, including picture books, novels, and materials that can help you with your daily life in Japan.
There are also books from Toyonaka City Library available at the center.
You can borrow books by simply filling out a borrower’s sheet even if you do not have a library card from Toyonaka City Library.
Also, there is a space where you can comfortably read books inside the center.

Each person may borrow up to 5 books for 2 weeks.
If you feel like reading books in your language, please visit the Toyonaka International Center.
