"Alterspace - Constantly Changing Temporary Art Space"
これまで創ってきた展覧会やリサーチを、さらに拡張させ、継続した思考と実践のできる場として「アートスペース」を立ち上げます。美術館やギャラリーでは無い、またオルタナティプ・スペースという代替の提案でも無い、場所に依拠しない変化し続ける仮設のスペースの創出が目的です。実験的な場、次世代のオルタナティブ・スペースの構想の第一歩でもあり、展覧会という一回限りで終わってしまう場を、継続した場として機能させ、対話や実験的なことができる場を作りたい、また、もっと柔軟に海外の（主にアジアの）アーティストやオルタナティブ・スペースと繋がりたいとい
う、主に二つの動機からAlterspaceの構想は始まりました。そこで今回は、アサヒ・アートスクエアを拠点に実験的な展覧会を行っているグループやアーティストを紹介します。また、中国と韓国のアーティストの作品も紹介し、トークイベントを開催し対話することで、Alterspaceの第一歩とします。この企画は、さまざまな隙間を縫い、場に寄生しながら、場そのものを変化させながら、長く継続しオルタナティブ・スペースやアーティスト・ラン・スペース、のように「オルタースペース」という名称が定着した頃終了したいと思います。（水田紗弥子）
Introduction by Asahi Art Square
The "Open Square Project" opens up the creatively inspiring space of the Asahi Art Square to creative artists. The third of the series, "Alterspace - Constantly Changing Temporary Art Space" will be curated by Sayako MIZUTA, an independent curator, selected among distinguished applicants. On this occasion, which will commence from the 11th day of January to the 2nd day of February, 2014, different kinds of spaces will be presented at the Asahi Art Square, for example, round table spaces where many people can congregate and spaces to appreciate works of art of artists from Asian countries. The Asahi Art Square, for this project, will experience overall transformation of space design with the help of the Korean artist Daeil Lee, using cardboard procured in Japan and Korea. An art exhibition, a video screening event as well as events fostering dialogue among independently working individuals in Japan, China and Korea will take place during this period.
