The Faculty of International Liberal Arts (FILA) at Soka University will be hosting the 2027 Scenario Forum Conference: Performative Teaching, Research, and Learning from March 24–27, 2027. As host, FILA is committed to fostering humanistic, globally engaged education, and we are delighted to welcome an international community of educators and researchers working at the intersection of performance, language education, and pedagogy.

The conference is part of the Scenario Forum, which focuses on performative teaching, research, and learning in Second Language Acquisition (SLA). The Scenario approach has its roots in German as a Foreign/Second Language (GFL/GSL) and has since expanded across multiple language contexts, including English (ESL/EFL), Italian (IFL/ISL), and French (FFL/FSL). We are delighted at the possibility of further extending this work into the English (EFL/ESL) context in Japan, as well as Japanese (JFL/JSL) at the 2027 conference.

We warmly welcome submissions from educators, researchers, and practitioners across all contexts, including those working in EFL, EAP, TESOL, and related fields. For more about the Scenario Project (2003~), please refer to https://www.ucc.ie/en/scenario/aboutus/

Request for Participation in a Survey for Elementary School ALTs

I am conducting research on the topic of “ALT Perspectives on Effective Lesson Planning and Teacher Collaboration." Through this research on collaborative teaching practice with Japanese teachers, I will be investigating the current situation and future direction of English language in elementary schools.

I am looking for teachers who are willing to cooperate. The questionnaire is mainly about your own practice with lesson planning and teacher collaboration, and you will be asked to complete it online in 5-10 minutes. Please be assured that your responses will be analyzed anonymously, and all personal information will remain confidential.

I would like to complete the survey by around May 25th.

Thank you for your cooperation.
