🦅Event Report🦅

On September 28th, the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce (IJCC) welcomed The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) to Ireland House for our annual joint networking event.

This year marked the 15th rendition of the event, with over 110 participants in attendance.

We were delighted to welcome H.E. Mr. Noel White, Ambassador-Designate of Ireland to Japan, to the podium to deliver the opening remarks. Given Ambassador-Designate White's recent nomination and arrival in Japan as the new appointed head of mission in Tokyo, we are especially thankful for his time to greet our attendees despite his busy schedule.

Following Ambassador-Designate White's remarks, ACCJ President Emeritus Victor Osumi and IJCC Vice President Pat Ryan were invited to the podium to address the attendees and lead in the kampai, with the support of IJCC Director Sam Keane, our MC for the evening.

As attendees networked with other participants following the conclusion of remarks, they were able to enjoy top-class Irish traditional music with thanks to our musicians for the evening: Dai Komatsu, Eriko Mizukami and Koji Nagao from Ode Inc.

Halfway through the night, some attendees were lucky to win a range of raffle prizes from our generous sponsors from both chambers, including Whisk-e, Woodford Reserve, Shelbourne Liquor, Tokyo Comedy Bar, Jack Daniels, and Onoda Inc.

A sincere thank you to the Embassy of Ireland for hosting both chambers each year and to IJCC Platinum Sponsors Toyoko Inn and The BUSKER Irish Wh***ey for making the continued activity of the Chamber possible.

A final thanks is also due to the hardworking staff of the ACCJ for their continued support and our photography volunteer Kenta Bell for documenting the evening.

We look forward to next year and to our continued collaboraiton with the ACCJ!

🔶New Corporate Member🔶

The IJCC is delighted to welcome ESG Data Core as our newest Corporate Member.

In joining the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce, ESG Data Core would like to share the following:

ESG Data Core is delighted to join the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce and become part of a network strengthening the relationship between Ireland and Japan. As an Irish technology startup with international ambitions, we see Japan as an important market, particularly given its leadership in technology, manufacturing and innovation. Through the IJCC, we look forward to building meaningful relationships with Irish and Japanese companies, learning more about the Japanese business ecosystem, and exploring collaborations where sustainability can become a driver of stronger, more resilient and competitive businesses.

About ESG Data Core

ESG Data Core is an Irish B2B SaaS startup building a sustainability intelligence platform that helps companies turn sustainability from a reporting burden and cost centre into a driver of business performance.

Our mission is to help organisations better understand their impact and use sustainability information to reduce costs, anticipate operational and supply chain risks, navigate regulatory requirements, improve efficiency, strengthen supplier relationships and identify new commercial opportunities.

The platform brings sustainability strategy, carbon and GHG calculations, regulatory intelligence, risk and opportunity assessment, supplier engagement, remediation and audit readiness into one environment, helping companies move from simply reporting sustainability information to using it to make better business decisions.

ESG Data Core is currently participating in an Enterprise Ireland-supported incubation programme and is developing its technology alongside companies and industry partners to ensure the solution can be tailored to real operational challenges.

Welcome ESG Data Core to the Chamber!

🌱Featured Article🌱

Over the past months, this series has explored the Regenerative 7Cs, a framework developed through imageMILL's work in branding, systems thinking, sustainability, and regenerative business design. What began with a simple proposition, that sustainability alone is no longer enough, evolved into a broader question:

What would it mean for businesses not only to reduce harm, but to actively contribute to healthier systems?

The result is the Regenerative 7Cs: a practical framework designed to help organisations align purpose, culture, communication, operations, and long-term value creation.

The future of business will not be shaped by efficiency alone. It will be shaped by the ability to build trust, adapt to complexity, and contribute positively to the systems that sustain life and society. Regeneration is not a marketing trend or a communications layer added onto existing models. It is a shift in how organisations understand value, responsibility, and success itself.

The Regenerative 7Cs are not intended as a checklist, but as a living framework. One that encourages organisations to think more systemically, act more consciously, and build businesses capable of thriving within ecological and social limits.
