国際学生会議（ISC：International Student Conferenceの略称）は1954年に発足した伝統ある学生会議です。

主催団体である日本国際学生協会(ISA)の理念の一つである「世界平和達成への貢献」を目指し、学生だからこそ可能な活動を行っています。

国際学生会議では世界各国の学生が集まり、約一週間泊まり込みで議論を重ねます。
議題は主に、様々な国の学生が集まるこの学生会議でこそ話し合われるべきものになっており、現在の世界が抱える様々な諸問題を取り上げています。
世界各国の学生同士で活発な議論を行い、一人一人が様々な世界諸問題に対して意識し、その解決策を学生ならではの視点で考えます。
そして最後にはその議論の成果を一般にも公開し、サマリー発表という形で社会に発信します。このようにして世界平和に貢献するよう努めています。

The International Student Conference (ISC) is a student-led conference which was established in 1954. As a program under the International Student Association (ISA), the “contribution to the realization of world peace” is a key guiding principle of the ISC that envisions the boundless capabilities and actions of students. In the International Student Conference, students from around the globe gather to participate in heated discussions and debates about pressing global issues during a week-long stay in Japan. The conference allows students of various backgrounds to together, create proposals and solutions about these issues. At the final forum presentation, all of the groups have a chance to present their ideas and proposals to the public, in order to realize the ultimate goal of contributing to the realization of world peace. The conference also includes events including a welcome party, field work, culture night, and Japanese culture experience that enrich the overall experience during the stay.

Here’s the description of table topic 4! 🕊️✨
Table topic 4 dives deep into women’s political representation and the creation of lasting peace through holistic governance. Discussion should move beyond quotas to examine the deep-seated political and cultural barriers.
We’ll also analyze the global case studies to examine how the presence of women in leadership positions affects policy areas which is critical to peace.
The goal is to develop recommendations that solidify the roots of a gender-responsive, equitable and resilient state!

テーブルトピック4では、女性の政治参画と包括的な統治による持続可能な平和の創造について深く掘り下げます。
単なる数値目標の議論にとどまらず、政治・文化の根底にある障壁をどう打破していくべきかを検討します。
また、世界中のケーススタディを分析し、女性がリーダーシップを発揮することが、平和に不可欠な政策分野にどのような影響を与えるのかを明らかにしていきます。

We would like to announce our table topics in ISC72!🥳
There are six table topics in total, so we would like to introduce each for one post!
The first topic is “Indigenous wisdom and youth involvement to build resilient climate action and biodiversity protection”.
This table explores the crucial synergy between Indigenous wisdom and youth involvement as foundational elements for a peaceful and sustainable future. The goal is to identify concrete frameworks for inclusive governance in environmental decision-making that honor both ancient roots and future imperatives to secure our shared ecological future.

一つ目のテーブルトピックは、“先住民の知恵と若者参加による気候変動対策と生物多様性保護”です。
このテーブルトピックでは、平和で持続可能な未来を築くうえで欠かせない「先住民の知恵」と「若者による積極的な取り組み」の相乗効果について探求します。目指すのは、先人から受け継いだ知恵と未来世代への責任の双方を尊重しながら、環境における包括的なガバナンスへの具体的な枠組みを見つけ出すことです。
