10月11日は「国際ガールズ・デー」。
思春期の少女の権利をめぐる数十年にわたる取り組みにより、 #児童婚 の根絶に向けた進展が見られたものの、依然として何百万人もの少女が危険にさらされています。

「国際ガールズ・デー」を迎えるにあたり、私たちは児童婚を根絶し、少女の権利を守るために尽力しなければなりません。

教育、保健、社会保護への投資は、児童婚の根本的な要因を取り除くものです。これらは少女たちに主体性と経済的自立をもたらすと同時に、依然として児童婚を容認・助長している不平等を是正します。

Decades of action on the rights of adolescent girls have led to progress in ending child marriage, but millions of girls remain at risk.
As we mark the International Day of the Girl Child, we must work to end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights.
Investments in education, health and social protections dismantle the drivers of child marriage. They provide girls with agency and economic empowerment, while transforming the inequalities that still excuse and encourage child marriage.

バングラデシュのロヒンギャ難民キャンプで活動する国連ボランティア喜藤麻子さんの活動の様子が動画で届きました。ロヒンギャの人々は、世界で最も過酷な状態にある難民ともいわれています。

日本の支援を受け、 #国連ボランティア である助産師メンターの喜藤麻子さんは、仲間の助産師たちと共に働き、自身の経験を共有し、スキルを磨き、共に問題解決に取り組んでいます。

メンターシップと知識の共有を通じて、麻子さんはロヒンギャの女性や新生児のケアにあたる医療従事者を支援し、最も必要とされている場所で質の高いケアを届けられるよう活動しています。

UNFPAの『世界人口白書』2026年版のグローバル・ローンチ（世界発表イベント）が、11月19日（木）に初めて東京で初開催されます。
今回は、UNFPA事務局長ディエネ・ケイタが来日し、発表の様子は世界へ同時配信します。

今年の報告書は若者に焦点を当て、世界各地の専門家による知見を集約したものです。専門家たちによる独自の考察に基づく寄稿をしたほか、若者たちとの意見交換会も実施しました。

世界発表イベントでは、有働由美子さんをモデレーターとするパネルディスカッションのほか、コミュニティアートやダンスパフォーマンスも開催されます。

On 19 November, UNFPA Executive Director, Ms. Diene Keita, will launch the State of Population (SWP) report, which will be live-streamed around the world. This marks the first time the global launch event will be held in Japan.

This year’s report focuses on youth and brings together the insights of experts from around the world, who wrote chapters, contributed independent thought pieces, and conducted youth consultation exercises.

The launch event will also consist of a panel discussion moderated by celebrity journalist Ms. Yumiko Udo, alongside a community art exhibition and dance performances.

UNFPAが毎年発表する『世界人口白書』。
その2026年版のグローバル・ローンチ（世界発表イベント）が、11月19日（木）に初めて東京で初開催されます。

今回は、UNFPA事務局長ディエネ・ケイタが来日し、発表の様子は世界へ同時配信します。
テーマの中心となるのは、日本を含む73カ国の若者10万人以上が答えた「家族」に関する大規模調査です。
若者が何を望み、どのように人生や人間関係の選択をしているのか、が明らかになります。

東京大学・弥生講堂で開かれるイベントでは、

UNFPA’s “State of World Population 2026” Global Launch will be held for the first time in Tokyo on Thursday, 19 November.

俳優の岸惠子さんが8月4日、老衰のため永眠されました。岸さんは1996年から2006年までの長きにわたり、UNFPA親善大使として多大な時間と情熱を注いでくださいました。
心から感謝し、ご冥福をお祈りいたします。

Japanese actor Ms. Keiko Kishi passed away earlier this month on 4 August.
From 1996 to 2006, Ms. Kishi served as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNFPA, dedicating a great deal of time and effort to this role. We appreciate her commitment to advocating UNFPA’s work around the world.

8月4日、 は、SDGs・人間の安全保障・人口問題アライアンスの一員として、国際人口問題議員懇談会（JPFP）会長の上川陽子衆議院議員と副会長の斎藤鉄夫衆議院議員とともに、JPFPを通して国光あやの外務副大臣に要望書「2027年度人口分野への拠出増額に向けたご支援のお願い」を提出しました。

On 4 August , together with the like-minded partners of the Alliance on SDGs, Human Security, and Population, visited the State Minister for Foreign Affairs. A formal letter, "Request for Support to Increase Contributions to the Population Field in Fiscal Year 2027", was handed over to her.

私たちは日々、紛争によって自らの生活が根底から覆される中でも、新たな命を守るために全力を尽くす何百万人もの妊婦や母親たちの勇気に立ち会っています。

最も脆弱な人々を育もうとするこの揺るぎない献身は、国際社会として、たとえ――あるいは特に――最も深刻かつ長期化する危機下にあっても、彼女たちを確実に守るために全力を尽くすよう、私たちに強く促します。

「世界人道デー」に際し、世界で最も危険な状況下で、こうした女性たちとその赤ちゃんを守ろうとして自らの命を危険にさらし、そしてあまりにも頻繁に命を落としている最前線の援助活動従事者や医療従事者に敬意を表するものです。

Every day, we witness the courage of the millions of pregnant women and mothers who do all they can to protect new life as conflict upends their own.
This unwavering commitment to nurturing the most vulnerable should compel us to do everything we can as an international community to ensure their protection, even – or especially – in the most acute and protracted of crises.

On this World Humanitarian Day, we honour the front-line aid workers and health workers who are risking - and all too often have lost - their lives while trying to safeguard these women and their babies in the world’s most dangerous settings.

7月23日、国連人口基金（ ）駐日事務所の成田所長が、 #国立看護大学校 の学生に向けて講演を行いました。
UNFPAと活動目的を紹介するとともに、ジェンダーに基づく暴力や精神保健・心理社会的支援（ ）について話しました。また、日本が支援するUNFPAのプロジェクトである「マダガスカル医療用ドローン配送プロジェクト」についても言及しました。
このイベントには約60名の学生が参加し、日本語で行われました。

On July 23rd, Eiko Narita, Chief of UNFPA Tokyo Representation Office, delivered a presentation to the students at the National College of Nursing.
She introduced UNFPA, its mandate, and talked about gender based violence and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).
She also touched on a UNFPA project supported by Japan, the Madagascar Medical Drones Delivery Project.
The event had approximately 60 students and was conducted in Japanese.
