Introducing the Tanomoshi Circle.

Young people leaving institutional care deserve more than a start - they deserve a community that stays with them as they build independent lives.

Through Empower Village, Circle members help make skills training, mentorship, digital connection, and practical support possible.

We support young people around the world who have potential and big plans for their future.

We know their names. We know the careers they dream about. And every week, we show up to remind them that they matter.

That consistency is where trust begins.

More than 100 MacBooks are now on their way into our community.

Yesterday, Gio led a hands-on session to help participants set up and configure a MacBook, many for the very first time. Seeing everyone learn together was a reminder that a device can open real doors when the right support comes with it.

Thank you to everyone helping make digital access possible for young people in our community.

Day One of Designing Artists Academy.DAA is a day camp in which kids living in the children’s home ranging approximately in ages 6-15 will participate. The children will be organized by grades in groups no larger than 10, with group mentors assigned. Each morning and afternoon sessions include digital and art workshops such as programming, excel art, photography, painting, illustration, fashion design, dance, craftwork, and cooking. At the conclusion of camp, there will be a special exhibition party to celebrate the children’s creations and the completion of the camp.

By creating small groups of 10 kids who are assigned 1-2 group mentors who guide and support the group throughout the entire camp, in addition to their workshop artists and other adult volunteers who work with the group, each group is exposed to continual attention from 4-6 adults. We have witnessed the profound positive effect this mentoring aspect has had on the kids. In 5-7 days time, for those children who start to ‘feel noticed,’ it goes a long way towards feeling that they are not simply stigmas of society. It is this kind of breakthrough that opens up perspectives and we’ve seen new interests and potential developed because of their experience at DAA.

Behind the scenes at YouMeWe, we keep building the skills that help us support young people well.

Today we completed Level Two of the Duke of Edinburgh Award workshop training. Every step like this makes us better prepared to guide, encourage, and show up for the youth we serve.

Thank you for being part of the work with us.

Look at all those hands. 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

Every time we get on a call and the kids start shooting their arms up to answer, I forget for a second how far apart we all are. Japan on one side, Manila on the other, and the USA but somehow it just... works. It feels like a real classroom. A real community.

But there's a quiet ache underneath all that joy.

Some of these kids will be adopted. Some will move to new homes, new families, new lives. And we celebrate that, genuinely. A family is everything. But we don't always know if we'll get to keep going with them after that. Sometimes a goodbye happens and we don't even realize it was the last class.

So I hold these moments a little tighter.

I hope that wherever life takes them, they carry a small piece of this with them. That somewhere in the back of their memory, there's a screen full of faces cheering them on, and they remember they were loved here.

You were seen here. Always. 💙

Earlier this summer, we sat with the students at SOS Village to talk about what they want to do in life. Today, we went deeper and asked why.

Astronaut, teacher, navy, each dream came with a purpose. These conversations matter because young people need more than career ideas. They need space to understand what drives them and who they want to become.

We’re grateful to keep showing up for these honest, important moments.

Learning opens up choices.

Here’s a moment from one of our hands-on sessions, where children had the chance to learn, explore, and build confidence with digital tools alongside caring volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time and attention to make these moments possible. If you’d like to support more opportunities like this, send us a message.
