【Philippines｜Mindanao Earthquake: Strengthening Support Based on Needs Assessments】
【フィリピン｜ミンダナオ島地震：ニーズ調査をもとに支援・連携を強化】

Following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao, A-PAD Philippines is strengthening support and coordination with relevant organizations based on ongoing needs assessments. As of noon on June 10, 45 people had been confirmed dead, more than 630 injured, and 17 missing, with 35,673 households affected across 199 barangays. A-PAD continues to work with local partners and volunteers to identify urgent needs and deliver timely support to affected communities.

ミンダナオ島で発生したマグニチュード7.8の地震を受け、A-PADフィリピンはニーズ調査をもとに、さらなる支援と関係機関との連携強化を進めています。6月10日正午時点で、死者45人、負傷者630人以上、行方不明者17人が確認されており、被災世帯数は35,673世帯、被災地域は199バランガイに拡大しています。A-PADは引き続き、現地パートナーやボランティアと連携し、緊急ニーズの把握と被災コミュニティへの迅速な支援に取り組んでいます。

Following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck southern Mindanao, A-PAD Philippines has begun field assessments and emergency support in affected areas. Casualties, injuries, and missing persons have been reported, and damage to buildings and infrastructure has been confirmed, while General Santos City has declared a state of calamity. A-PAD Philippines is working with local partners and volunteers to assess urgent needs, support coordination, and deliver timely assistance to affected communities.

フィリピン・ミンダナオ島南部で発生したマグニチュード7.8の地震を受け、A-PADフィリピンは被災地での現地調査と緊急支援を開始しました。死傷者・行方不明者が報告されており、建物やインフラへの被害も確認されています。また、ジェネラル・サントス市では災害非常事態宣言が出されています。A-PADフィリピンは現地パートナーやボランティアと連携し、緊急ニーズの把握、関係機関との調整、被災コミュニティへの迅速な支援に取り組んでいます。

【Philippines｜Mindanao Earthquake: Situation Update and Emergency Support】
【フィリピン｜ミンダナオ地震緊急支援：現地状況】

Following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck southern Mindanao on June 8, 2026, at 7:37 AM, the situation on the ground is gradually becoming clearer. Casualties, missing persons, and injuries have been reported, with damage confirmed to buildings, roads, airports, and power transmission facilities, while power outages and school closures continue in affected areas. A-PAD PH is working with HRN Davao volunteers, the General Santos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), and other partners to conduct rapid assessments, gather information, and coordinate with relevant agencies in General Santos City, while also supporting the installation and operation of Starlink connectivity systems with the cooperation of Unconnected.org. Continued support is expected to be needed for food, water and sanitation, shelter, search and rescue, mental health and psychosocial care, and recovery of homes and livelihoods.

【Philippines｜Equipping Micro-Business Owners to Stand Strong Against Disasters】
【フィリピン｜災害に強い小規模事業者を育てるMERP研修】

On May 20–21, 2026, the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) of Ormoc City conducted the Microenterprises Resilience Plan (MERP) Training at Pongos Hotel, Ormoc City, in partnership with A-PAD Philippines, the Ormoc Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ORCHAM), and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO). Over the two-day training, micro-business owners gained practical knowledge and tools to assess disaster risks, understand their business operations, and develop continuity strategies to protect their livelihoods before, during, and after disasters. By the end of the program, participants developed their own Microenterprise Resilience Plans, helping strengthen business continuity and community resilience in the face of future disruptions.

2026年5月20日〜21日、オルモック市のLocal Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office（LEDIPO）は、A-PADフィリピン、Ormoc Chamber of Commerce and Industry（ORCHAM）、City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office（CDRRMO）と連携し、Pongos HotelにてMicroenterprises Resilience Plan（MERP）研修を実施しました。2日間の研修を通じて、小規模事業者は災害リスクの評価、自身の事業運営の理解、災害前・発災時・災害後に生計を守るための事業継続戦略について、実践的な知識とツールを学びました。プログラムの最後には、参加者がそれぞれのMicroenterprise Resilience Planを作成し、将来の混乱に備えた事業継続と地域レジリエンスの強化につながりました。

【Philippines｜A-PAD PH Deploys Emergency Connectivity After Mindanao Earthquake】

LOOK: A-PAD PH, in partnership with Human Resource Network (HRN) Davao volunteers and the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated, with support from Unconnected.org, deployed Starlink connectivity systems at the General Santos City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and City Health Center following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao. The team also conducted rapid assessments and coordinated with local authorities and stakeholders to monitor the situation, identify urgent needs, and support ongoing response efforts. A-PAD PH continues to work closely with partners, volunteers, and local stakeholders to assess humanitarian needs and facilitate timely assistance for affected communities.
