チベット仏教の高僧チョクトゥル・ドルジェ・テン師が拘束されてから9か月が経過した現在も、その所在や安否は依然として不明のままです。
チベット語とチベット文化の保存を強く支持し、尊敬を集める影響力のある指導者であるチョクトゥル・ドルジェ・テン・リンポチェは、2025年12月、中国当局によって恣意的に拘束されました。
先週、国際チベット・ネットワーク（ICT）は、29の人権団体とともに、中国政府に対し、その人権状況を改善するための、即時かつ検証可能な措置を講じるよう求めました。
米国が中国の習近平国家主席のワシントンD.C.訪問を控えるなか、ICTは、米国政府に対してチベット問題を取り上げるよう求めるとともに、世界中の支援者、チベット支援活動家、そしてチベット人の皆さんと連帯し、 （チベット問題を提起せよ）を訴えます。

Nine months after his detention, prominent Tibetan Buddhist leader Choktrul Dorje Ten’s whereabouts, well-being remain unknown. A respected an influential leader and a firm proponent of Tibetan language and cultural preservation, Choktrul Dorje Ten Rinpoche was arbitrarily detained by Chinese authorities in December 2025.

Last week ICT joined 29 human rights organizations and called on the Chinese government to take immediate, verifiable steps to address its human rights record. As the US prepares for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s trip to Washington DC, ICT stands with our supporters, Tibet advocates, and Tibetans worldwide as we urge the US to .

Welcoming Tenzin Tsundue la to Japan

Tenzin Tsundue la, one of the most prominent opinion leaders of the second generation of Tibetans in exile, will be visiting Japan for the first time.

A renowned Tibetan writer, poet, essayist, and activist, Tenzin Tsundue la has dedicated his life to raising awareness of the Tibetan people’s struggle for freedom, identity, and cultural survival. Through his powerful writings, poetry, and nonviolent activism, he has given voice to the experiences, aspirations, and challenges of Tibetans living in exile.

Born and raised in India as a Tibetan refugee, he represents a generation that has never experienced life in a free Tibet but continues to carry a deep connection to its homeland. His literary works explore themes of exile, identity, belonging, resistance, and the enduring hope for a free Tibet. His words reflect not only the personal experiences of a Tibetan in exile but also the collective hopes and struggles of the Tibetan people.

Tenzin Tsundue la is particularly known for combining his literary expression with peaceful political activism. His commitment to speaking out for Tibet has inspired many young Tibetans and supporters around the world, demonstrating how writing, poetry, and individual action can become powerful tools for raising awareness and advocating for human rights.

SFT Japan is delighted to welcome Tenzin Tsundue la to Japan and warmly invites everyone to join us for this special opportunity to hear directly from him. Together, we will explore the roots of his commitment, his journey as a Tibetan writer and activist in exile, and the role of literature and peaceful resistance in preserving Tibetan identity and continuing the struggle for freedom.

Tokyo: Lungta Project, a Japanese NGO, and Students for Free Tibet Japan organised a symposium on self-immolation in Tibet to highlight the situation in Tibet and remember Lobga Rangzen’s act of martyrdom at the Ochiai Public Center in Shinjuku-ku. On September 12, at Ochiai Daiichi Chiiki Center in Shinjuku, Tokyo, SFT Japan and the Lung-Ta Project jointly held an event entitled “Why Do Tibetan Self-Immolation Protests Continue?”

The event was very successful, and we were honored to have the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to Dr. Tsewang Gyalpo Arya la for his valuable guidance, support, and encouragement to SFT Japan during his tenure as the Representative of Tibet House Japan.
