Photohoku

Photohoku An effort to help restart family photo and photo albums for those need, created in response to the Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster of 2011.

Photohoku is an effort to make new family photos and albums for people in need. It was started in response to the Tohoku disaster of 2011 and has since been repeated worldwide. Our project is fun and unique because we are using instant film so we can give recipients new photos immediately. With Fujifilm supporting us with film and Nakabayashi Corporation supporting us with photo albums we travel t

o the affect regions once a month and have made 1000s of new photos and albums for families who have lost theirs. We also host workshops like photo album decorating workshops and a 3D camera craft workshop. We have continued the project still and now we want to use our method to make positive impact on other issues. We have also shared this project numerous times in speeches and presentations at Pechakucha, TEDx, to classes of children and lots more. Here are a few links. Web: http://photohoku.org
